NJFX is a Tier 3 carrier neutral colocation data center strategically located at the intersection of subsea cables connecting the United States, South America, Europe, and the Caribbean. Traditional Connectivity Model
Historically, connecting a business’s data center to a subsea cable landing station required the use of middlemen and backhaul solutions. Traffic was routed from the business’s data center to a colocation center or carrier hotel access point before reaching the landing station. This multi step process was costly and introduced multiple points of failure.
The NJFX Disruption
NJFX has disrupted this traditional model by developing its Data center immediately adjacent to a subsea cable landing station owned by Tata Communications in Wall, New Jersey. This strategic proximity eliminates the need for expensive backhaul detours and significantly reduces associated risks.
Direct Connectivity and Cost Savings
Customers at NJFX benefit from access to a Meet-Me Room (MMR) within the cable landing station, enabling direct connectivity to Europe, South America, and the Caribbean. This approach redefines proximity by offering direct interconnection at the cable head without recurring cross connect charges, resulting in higher reliability, improved performance, and reduced costs.
Data Center Specifications
The NJFX facility spans 64,800 sq. ft. and supports over 1,100 cabinets. It provides direct access to multiple Tier 1 Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and fiber providers, catering to the connectivity requirements of carriers, enterprises, and government organizations.
Technical and Security Features
The data center offers a fully built-out 9 MW power capacity and is designed and certified to Tier 3 standards with N+1 redundancy across UPS systems, cooling, and standby power. Available deployment options include full and partial cabinets, shared rackspace, cages, and private suites. The facility is protected by 24/7 onsite security personnel and includes a Meet-Me Room, loading bay, one Internet Exchange Point (IXP), connectivity to 12 peering networks and one network provider, and compliance with SSAE 18 Audit and SSAE 16 Type 2 certifications.
