Vantage Data Centers (VA1 - Ashburn I Campus) Data Center

The Vantage Ashburn VA1 Data Center Campus spans a massive 42-acre site strategically located in Northern Virginia, one of the most sought-after data center markets in the world. Upon full development, the campus will feature five 2-story data centers, delivering a total of 206 MW of critical IT power across 1,700,000 square feet of data center space. Currently, plans call for 146 MW and 720,000 square feet of data center space in its initial phase.

The campus is powered by Dominion Energy, the leading energy provider in the region. It benefits from multiple diverse power feeds and a 480V end-to-end electrical distribution system. Power reliability is further enhanced by N+1 UPS redundancy and N+1 standby power configuration, ensuring high availability and uptime for mission-critical applications.

Cooling at the Vantage Ashburn campus is highly efficient, utilizing Computer Room Air Handling (CRAH) units positioned in dual galleries on opposite sides of each data module for optimal airflow. A closed-loop chilled water system with air-side economizers and N+2 mechanical redundancy contributes to energy efficiency and operational resilience. The Water Utilization Efficiency (WUE) is near zero (liters/kW/hr), thanks to the latest cooling technologies employed onsite.

The campus offers strong connectivity with all major fiber-based service providers operating within a two-mile radius. It features multiple Meet-Me-Rooms (MMRs) and a minimum of two diverse fiber pathways per carrier, ensuring optimal performance and low latency. With four points-of-entry (POEs) and diverse routes throughout the campus, Vantage ensures maximum path diversity for inbound and outbound data traffic.

Security at the Vantage Ashburn VA1 campus is a top priority. The site is enclosed with fencing and perimeter gates, monitored by CCTV surveillance at all access control points. Dual authentication methods—including access badge/PIN and biometric readers—are used to safeguard customer and infrastructure areas. A 24x7x365 on-site security operations center and robust visitor management system ensure only authorized personnel can access the premises.

The campus is equipped with modern amenities to support business needs, including conference rooms, office space, and multiple MMRs. This facilitates ease of collaboration and colocation activities.

Vantage offers a comprehensive suite of colocation services including full and partial cabinets, shared rackspace, and remote hands support. This flexibility allows customers to scale infrastructure according to their specific needs.

The Vantage Ashburn VA1 campus is designed for scale, with five child data center listings planned. It currently offers 146 MW of critical power and 720,000 square feet of space, with expansion capacity up to 206 MW and 1.7 million square feet as enterprise demands grow.
