Columbia Colocation is a privately operated micro data center in Quincy, Washington, specializing in providing reliable and affordable colocation services. It caters specifically to the needs of small businesses, developers, startups, and home lab enthusiasts, offering a local, low-overhead server hosting solution within Central Washington's growing tech corridor. The facility began operation in 2021 and is a single-story, 300 sq.f. retrofitted building with a solid floor and a floor-to-ceiling height of 96 inches.
The facility currently operates with a Live Power capacity of 0.006 MW and a Fully Built-Out Power capacity of 0.03 MW, with 0.024 MW planned for future expansion. The overall Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) is 1.5. Cooling uses a Mini Split with a Portable AC, providing N+1 Cooling Redundancy.
Columbia Colocation is currently connected directly to the Grant County PUD fiber network. The facility is actively in the process of adding a second carrier to establish fully redundant internet connectivity, which will increase the total number of network providers to three. This direct access to regional fiber is a key feature of their service offering.
Security measures include a fenced perimeter and 24/7 CCTV surveillance. The facility ensures secure remote access for customers. It is important to note that there is no Onsite Security Staff and no Onsite Technical Staff permanently present at the location. The service model includes the provision of Remote Hands for support.
The current facility, with a total building size of 300 sq.f., has a Live Whitespace of 35 sq.f. and a Fully Built-Out Whitespace of 135 sq.f., with 100 sq.f. planned. Services currently offered include Full Cabinets, Partial Cabinets, Shared Rackspace, and Build-to-Suit options, supporting custom server configurations in a clean, shared rack environment. Phase two expansion will significantly increase capacity to eight full racks.
The facility boasts a strong historical availability of 99.97%, classifying its design as a Tier 1 data center. Future plans are focused on enhancing uptime and capacity. This includes the integration of generator or battery-based backup power to achieve greater reliability (Standby Power Redundancy N is currently planned). The facility is committed to local support and flexibility to meet customer needs.
