Flexential (Hillsboro 4) Data Center

Flexential is expanding its presence in the Pacific Northwest with the new Hillsboro 4 Data Center located on a new campus adjacent to the existing Hillsboro 3 facility. This project significantly boosts Flexential's regional capacity, initially adding 138,000 sq. ft. of space and 18 MW of power. The design includes capacity for an additional 54 MW in future builds, ensuring Flexential can meet the increasing demand for its FlexAnywhere™ platform and support the growth of ecosystem partners in the region.

The new development delivers enhanced access to the NAP of the Northwest, providing crucial connectivity to multiple subsea cables. This highly connected environment is integral to the FlexAnywhere™ platform, which offers flexible and tailored hybrid IT solutions including colocation, cloud, connectivity, data protection, managed, and professional services. Flexential leverages a massive platform of three million square feet across 19 highly connected markets and a 100 Gbps private backbone to ensure security, compliance, and resiliency for its customers.

The facility is engineered to support the most demanding applications with capabilities to deliver more than 1,500 watts per square foot. Key power features include 18 MW of critical load UPS capacity, N+1 UPS redundancy, and distributed redundant UPS systems. This robust design, combined with highly efficient built-in liquid cooling capabilities and hot aisle containment, allows customers to realize cost savings even in high-density, compute-intensive environments.

Flexential is committed to data center sustainability, evidenced by the Hillsboro 4 design targets, including a PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) of 1.4 and a WUE (Water Usage Effectiveness) of 0 (zero water use). Operational reliability is ensured through a 100% power SLA, N+2 cooling redundancy, and the capacity to support diverse physical footprints like Full Cabinets, Partial Cabinets, Shared Rackspace, Cages, and Suites.
