STACK INFRASTRUCTURE (POR03C) Data Center

STACK Infrastructure’s POR03 facility in Hillsboro, Oregon, is its flagship data center campus, strategically situated in the Portland area. Spanning 55 acres, the campus is engineered to deliver a total of up to 200 megawatts (MW) of critical IT capacity across eight purpose-built buildings. This prime location offers direct access to renewable energy sources and low-latency connectivity, making it an ideal choice for organizations prioritizing both sustainability and high performance. The current built-out capacity for one section is 24 MW of power and 180,000 sq. ft. of whitespace.

The campus guarantees exceptional power reliability through a robust system incorporating dual utility feeds and N block redundancy via generators and Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS). To ensure continuous operation, the facility maintains a minimum of 24-hour fuel storage. The facility also offers flexible deployment options, supporting both shell and turnkey solutions, which is vital for quick scaling.

POR03 is specifically designed to handle high-density workloads, including demanding AI and cloud operations. Its proprietary design can accommodate various cooling methods, including liquid-to-chip cooling. This is supported by closed-loop water cooling systems for optimal thermal management. The mechanical systems utilize N+1 345-ton air-cooled chillers equipped with a quick restart function, ensuring stable cooling even during component failure.

Physical security is comprehensive, with 24/7 on-site security personnel and strict dual-factor biometric access. The perimeter is secured with gated vehicle access. Safety protocols include dual smoke detection with VESDA (Very Early Warning Smoke Detection Apparatus) and a dual-interlock pre-action sprinkler system. Furthermore, the site is located in a minimal flood hazard area as designated by FEMA. Surveillance is maintained by comprehensive CCTV coverage with a 93-day retention policy.

Connectivity is highly redundant and robust, featuring 2 Main Distribution Frames (MDFs) with diverse fiber entrances. Clients benefit from access to a wave fiber ring, major cloud providers, trans-Pacific cables, and key carrier hotels. Client-dedicated PDU distribution is provided, with access to a Building Management System (BMS) portal. The facility supports diverse cabinet solutions, including full cabinets, partial cabinets, shared rackspace, cages, and suites, along with remote hands services.

To support on-site client operations, the campus provides various amenities such as conference rooms, complimentary WiFi, and shared office space. Practical features include bicycle storage, showers, and a secure multi-bay loading dock, along with dedicated storage and staging areas.
