ColoCrossin (NJ1) Data Center

The NJ1 facility is a significant data center located in Piscataway Township, New Jersey, originally built and maintained by Dupont Fabros Technology (now part of Digital Realty). Completed in 2010, the structure encompasses a total building size of 360,000 square feet, making it a substantial facility designed to house critical IT infrastructure.

The data center is engineered for high-density power usage, featuring a robust Fully Built-Out Power capacity of 36.4 MW (megawatts) of critical power load. This capacity is supported by sophisticated power infrastructure, including 32 Rotary UPS Power systems. Each of these systems is capable of a 1,300 kW critical output, ensuring a stable and continuous power supply.

A key feature of the NJ1 facility's design is its focus on power reliability, achieved through a highly resilient power configuration. The Rotary UPS Power systems operate in an N+2 redundancy configuration. This high level of redundancy means that the facility has the capacity of two extra fully operational units beyond what is required to run the critical load (N), providing substantial failover protection against equipment failure or maintenance.

The operational environment and security measures at NJ1 are designed to meet stringent industry standards. Security protocols include comprehensive measures such as CCTV surveillance, Biometric Access Control, and Card Access Control to secure the premises and critical areas. The facility also supports connections to one peering network, facilitating efficient data exchange and connectivity for tenants.

The NJ1 data center offers a variety of service configurations to meet different client needs, including Full Cabinets, Partial Cabinets, Shared Rackspace, Cages, and Suites. Additionally, tenants can utilize Remote Hands services for on-site technical assistance. Having become operational in 2010, the facility has a long track record of service, underscoring its established presence in the data center market.
