Cogent's Newark Data Center is engineered to deliver a highly secure and reliable environment for diverse data needs, encompassing scalability and robust operational features. The facility provides a total of 6,669 sq. ft. of fully built-out whitespace, with 3,373 sq. ft. of usable space. It offers a variety of cabinet and service options, including Full Cabinets, Partial Cabinets, and Shared Rackspace, utilizing 42U APC AR3100 Cabinets. Services extend to colocation, internet, and VPN, all supported by an onsite Remote Hands team.

To ensure uninterrupted operation, the data center is equipped with sophisticated power infrastructure. This includes one 160kVA UPS with a distribution panel and one 300amp PDU for efficient power distribution. For backup power, the facility features multiple 575kW diesel powered standby generators with 800 amp manual switches. Fuel resilience is maintained by multiple 6,000 gallon subbase fuel tanks with a day tank and Veeder Root fuel monitoring systems, safeguarding against extended outages.

Connectivity is a core strength, featuring carrier neutral services. Cogent itself is an available carrier, and the center supports highspeed network demands with port sizes up to 100GE. This ensures that businesses can access and transmit data quickly and efficiently, supporting modern, highbandwidth applications.

Optimal operating conditions are guaranteed through specialized environmental and safety systems. The facility uses Multiple Air Cooled Chillers as part of its HVAC systems to maintain ideal temperature and humidity. For fire safety, the center employs a Fike SHP Pro 10-063 Control Systems fire alarm system, complete with visual and audible alarms. It also features a robust Clean Agent Zones Suppression System to protect sensitive equipment without causing water damage.

Security is paramount, utilizing a layered approach for maximum protection. Access control is strict and continuous, featuring 24/7/365 biometric access control, CCURE Card Reader Access System, and general 24/7 Building Access. Physical surveillance is maintained by CCTV cameras monitoring and recording 24/7, ensuring comprehensive oversight and security for all hosted assets.
