The Madison EdgeConneX facility is a purpose built Edge Data Center designed to optimize content and application delivery for the local market. By positioning the infrastructure precisely at the edge, the facility minimizes latency for both consumer and enterprise subscribers. As a carrier neutral environment, it partners directly with local network and cable operators to ensure the shortest and fastest routes for data transmission, making it an ideal hub for high performance digital services.

The facility spans a total building size of 7800 square feet, featuring 2650 square feet of fully built out whitespace. To accommodate various client needs, the center offers flexible housing options including full cabinets, partial cabinets, and shared rackspace. For larger requirements, the facility provides build to suit cages and custom footprints, ensuring that businesses can scale their physical presence according to their specific hardware demands.

Engineered for high performance computing, the Madison EDC supports a fully built out power capacity of 0.5 MW. The electrical design is robust, supporting a maximum power density of 20 kW per rack or 0.6 kW per square foot. This allows for the installation of high density server configurations while maintaining energy efficiency and reliable power distribution across the entire whitespace.

Reliability is central to the facilitys Tier 3 design, which utilizes N+1 redundancy across all critical systems. This includes N+1 UPS redundancy to prevent electrical interruptions, N+1 cooling redundancy to maintain optimal thermal conditions, and N+1 standby power redundancy to ensure continuous operation during grid failures. These layers of backup guarantee that the data center remains operational even during equipment maintenance or unforeseen component failures.

Security is managed through a stringent, multi stage protocol to protect sensitive hardware and data. The facility features a mantrap entry and 24/7 CCTV surveillance to monitor all activity. Access is strictly controlled via biometric and card access systems, ensuring that only authorized personnel can enter the whitespace. These physical barriers work in tandem with the onsite technical staff to provide a secure environment around the clock.

The data center is equipped with advanced fire protection systems to safeguard equipment from thermal damage. It utilizes an automatic, pre action, zoned dry pipe sprinkler system, which prevents accidental water discharge. The system is strategically organized with zoned maintenance aisles and separate suites, allowing for targeted fire suppression while protecting the integrity of the surrounding infrastructure.

Madison EdgeConneX adheres to the highest industry standards for data handling and operational excellence. The facility is SOC 2 Type II, ISO27001, HIPAA, and DSS PCI compliant, meeting the rigorous demands of the healthcare, finance, and enterprise sectors.
