Liquid Web (Liquid Web Lansing B) Data Center

Liquid Web’s initial Lansing-based data center is a robust facility encompassing 11,000 square feet of specialized infrastructure within a larger 90,000 square foot building. This site is designed to house and manage thousands of on-site servers, providing a high-density environment that balances physical space with advanced technical capabilities to support a wide range of enterprise needs.

The facility features a sophisticated networking architecture built on multiple redundant fiber rings, including available dark fiber services. To ensure maximum uptime and speed, the network utilizes multiple fully redundant OC48 connections through four Tier 1 providers: AT&T, Verizon AS701, Savvis, and Level 3. Furthermore, a redundant dark fiber ring directly connects this facility to Liquid Web’s DC2, ensuring seamless data transfer across their local infrastructure.

To prevent service interruptions, the data center is engineered with a fully redundant N plus 1 architecture across all critical systems. This includes N plus 1 power generation facilities and multiple parallel redundant UPS systems to bridge the gap during power transitions. Climate control is equally prioritized, featuring N plus 1 cooling redundancy and advanced air conditioning units to maintain optimal operating temperatures for all hardware.

Physical security is managed through a multi layered approach to ensure the safety of client data and hardware. The site is equipped with mantrap entry points, card access control systems, and an integrated alarm system. Constant monitoring is provided via video surveillance CCTV, and the facility is protected by an automatic fire suppression system to mitigate environmental risks.

The facility is uniquely characterized by its human element, being staffed 24 7 365 by Level 3 technicians and on site security personnel. These technicians provide remote hands assistance and directly manage the server ecosystem at all hours. While the facility focuses primarily on dedicated and virtual server hosting rather than traditional rack rentals, clients benefit from around the clock access and professional oversight.
