DataBank (MCI1 - Kansas City - South Lake) Data Center

This data center, located in the South Lake office park in Lenexa, Kansas, was integrated into the DataBank inventory following the acquisition of Arsalon Technologies in April 2014. As a premier Kansas City facility, it serves as a critical hub for prominent local and statewide businesses. The site is uniquely positioned in a business friendly environment and is supported by a dedicated on site staff available 24 7 365 to ensure seamless operations and client support.

Beyond standard colocation, the facility provides an extensive suite of managed services designed to meet diverse technical requirements. These include hosting and virtual hosting, cloud services, and specialized storage solutions. To ensure high performance connectivity and data integrity, the site also offers robust network services and integrated security solutions tailored to the needs of modern enterprises.

Security is a cornerstone of this Tier 3 facility, featuring a combination of physical and digital safeguards. Access is strictly controlled via card requirements for building entry and biometric hand scanners for all data center access points. The premises are monitored 24 7 365 by on site security personnel and multiple 360 degree cameras, with all footage maintained in an on site video archive for audit and review purposes.

The facility maintains rigorous standards to support regulated industries, including healthcare and finance. It undergoes annual SSAE 16 and PCI DSS audits to ensure data handling meets international benchmarks. Furthermore, the site is HIPAA compliant and SAS70 Type 2 certified, providing a secure environment for sole tenant or multi tenant configurations that require strict adherence to privacy and security frameworks.

To guarantee high availability, the data center utilizes a sophisticated power distribution system featuring 2 MW of fully built out power. Utility power is delivered via multiple feeds from redundant substations, with all external conduits concrete encased for physical protection. In the event of a grid failure, on site power generation and UPS systems, all designed with built in redundancy, ensure the facility remains operational without interruption.

The 5,000 square foot whitespace is managed by high efficiency CRAC and CRAH units designed to maintain optimal thermal conditions. The entire HVAC system is engineered with at least N+1 redundancy, ensuring that cooling remains consistent even during equipment maintenance. Additionally, a Liebert Leak Detect System is fully deployed throughout the facility to mitigate risks associated with moisture or environmental hazards.

Clients can choose from a variety of hardware configurations, including full or partial cabinets, shared rackspace, private cages, and custom suites. The purpose built construction allows for whitespace expansion and includes a dedicated Meet Me Room for streamlined interconnection. With two primary network providers and available roof access, the facility offers the physical and digital flexibility needed for scalable business growth.
