DataBank (MCI2 - Pine Ridge)
The DataBank KC2 facility, located in the Pine Ridge office park in Lenexa, KS, became part of the DataBank portfolio following the acquisition of Arsalon Technologies in April 2014. This purpose-built 30,000 sq ft facility includes 12,000 sq ft of raised-floor data center space, with 11,510 sq ft currently built out as whitespace. Designed as a Tier 3 facility, KC2 serves as a central hub for prominent local and statewide businesses, housing DataBank's primary Network Operations Center (NOC) and providing 24/7/365 on-site technical support.
Service Offerings
DataBank KC2 offers a full range of IT infrastructure services, including traditional colocation in full cabinets, partial cabinets, and secure cage footprints. The facility also provides virtual hosting, public and private cloud services, dedicated hosting, storage and backup solutions, network management, and security-as-a-service. In addition, clients benefit from 24/7/365 Remote Hands and Smart Hands technical support for on-site equipment management.
Power and Cooling
The facility is designed for maximum reliability, with robust power and environmental systems. It receives 4MW of incoming utility power from redundant substations via concrete-encased feeds, while the critical IT load of 2MW is supported by a 2N UPS redundancy configuration and on-site diesel generators. Climate control is maintained with over 800 tons of cooling capacity through high-efficiency CRAC/CRAH units, and the Liebert Leak Detect system ensures continuous monitoring, all built with N+1 redundancy to maintain stable conditions.

KC2 maintains rigorous compliance standards to meet the needs of enterprise, financial, and healthcare clients. The facility undergoes annual audits and holds certifications for SSAE 18 and SOC 1/2 Type II, PCI-DSS for payment card security, HIPAA readiness for healthcare data, and ISO 27001 for international information security management.
Security
The facility employs a multi-layered security system starting at the perimeter, with card key access to the parking area and building lobby. Entry to the data center requires biometric hand verification, and the site is monitored 24/7/365 with on-site security personnel and a network of 360-degree CCTV cameras. All video footage is archived and securely stored on-site.

KC2 is designed to support visiting IT staff and administrators with professional conference rooms, comfortable lounges for off-floor work, dedicated equipment staging areas, and secure storage spaces. These amenities help facilitate smooth deployment and maintenance of client hardware.
Network Connectivity
As a carrier-neutral facility, KC2 offers high-speed, low-latency connectivity through a dedicated Meet-Me-Room (MMR). The facility provides access to 14 onsite network providers and 6 primary network providers, direct fiber entries, peering networks, and Metro Data Center Interconnect (DCI) services. Additionally, diverse telecom entries and specialized roof access support antenna or satellite needs.
