OTAVA (OTAVA Indianapolis) Data Center

The Indianapolis data center is a 44,000 square foot standalone facility strategically positioned to serve Metro Indianapolis, Indiana, and the broader Midwest region. It is designed to provide secure, compliant, enterprise class solutions including cloud computing, colocation, and offsite disaster recovery. Its geographic separation from other regional hubs in Michigan makes it an ideal site for production environments and secondary data protection strategies.

The facility features 16,000 square feet of 18 inch raised floor space dedicated to high performance computing. With a total building load capacity of 3 MW, the site is built to handle intensive enterprise workloads. The data center is among the first in the nation to feature an all flash cloud environment, providing ultra fast and scalable infrastructure specifically engineered to manage mission critical applications and large scale Big Data needs.

Redundancy is a core feature of the power architecture, utilizing a 2N configuration for UPS battery backup systems to ensure clean, conditioned power. The facility is supported by two 1,500 kVA transformers fed via diverse paths from different substations and a 1.5 MW Cummins diesel generator with 5,000 gallons of fuel storage. High availability power paths are routed through multiple PDUs to ensure every server rack maintains constant uptime.

This carrier neutral facility offers exceptional connectivity through four different telecommunications providers and two physically separate fiber points of entry. The network infrastructure is powered by high availability, dual Cisco powered hardware providing a redundant 10GB capacity. By utilizing multiple Internet Service Providers with diverse fiber feeds, the center eliminates single points of failure for client data transmissions.

Security and trust are verified through independent, ongoing audits conducted by UHY LLP. The facility meets stringent regulatory requirements, including SOX, SSAE 16, SOC 1, SOC 2, HIPAA OCR Audit Protocol, and PCI DSS standards. Additionally, the data center maintains Safe Harbor compliance, ensuring that organizations in regulated industries can host their sensitive data with full confidence in its legal and technical integrity.

Physical security is managed 24 hours a day by onsite staff and comprehensive digital surveillance that monitors both the perimeter and interior. Access to the colocation space is strictly controlled via two factor authentication, including biometric scanners and card access. These layers of security ensure that only authorized personnel can enter the facility, providing a highly protected environment for sensitive hardware and proprietary data.

To protect hardware from environmental threats, the facility utilizes a dual stage fire suppression strategy consisting of FM 200 gas and a dry pipe sprinkler system. The cooling, UPS, and standby power systems all operate on an N plus 1 redundancy model to prevent outages during equipment maintenance or failure. Furthermore, the facility offers Remote Hands services, allowing clients to leverage onsite technical expertise for hardware management without needing to be physically present.
