Aligned Data Centers (Aligned PDX-02) Data Center

The PDX-02 data center is a key component of Aligned Data Centers' extensive 27.02 Acre Hillsboro Campus. This facility boasts a 36 MW power capacity and is housed within a 245,000 sq. ft. purpose-built structure featuring a raised floor. The total capacity is divided across 12 distinct 6 MW data halls. This impressive scale underscores PDX-02's importance as a regional digital infrastructure hub, offering options for full cabinets, partial cabinets, shared rackspace, and build-to-suit solutions, supplemented by remote hands services.

PDX-02 is supported by robust and committed electrical infrastructure, highlighted by an offsite substation that provides 120 MW of critical capacity committed from Portland General Electric (PGE) to date. Power continuity is maintained by generators equipped with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCRs), which include 24-hour belly tanks for extended operation. Furthermore, the facility offers 100% renewable power options, leveraging PGE’s diverse portfolio which includes seven hydroelectric plants, two wind farms, and seven thermal plants, catering to environmentally conscious operations.

The facility utilizes Aligned's proprietary Delta³™ cooling technology, featuring a common plenum ceiling design, which significantly enhances cooling efficiency and scalability. The cooling plant consists of air-cooled chillers mounted on the roof. Internally, the PDU (Power Distribution Unit) and STS (Static Transfer Switch) rooms are cooled via CRAHs (Computer Room Air Handlers) drawing from the primary cooling loop, ensuring critical electrical components remain within optimal operating temperatures. A distinctive feature is the use of stacked Delta³™ galleries, which, combined with full roof and equipment yard screening, provides an integrated and discreet infrastructure setup.

PDX-02 is strategically positioned to be a crucial hub to the APAC (Asia-Pacific) region. It offers rich fiber options providing connections that extend south to California and north to Seattle. Its proximity to major trans-Pacific submarine cable systems, including TGN, Hawaiki, New Cross Pacific, TPE, and FASTER, ensures exceptionally low latency to APAC from the US.
