Acceleration Data Center

Acceleration is an IT solutions company founded in Gainesville, Florida, in 1997. Initially a programming resource, the company expanded its mission to secure the entire data path for its clients. It now operates a private, high-speed Ethernet mesh network connecting several geographically diverse data centers. This infrastructure, which includes redundant WAN paths and twelve carrier interconnections, allows Acceleration to offer a wide range of connectivity and hosting services, with a core focus on protecting client applications.

The Gainesville Data Center is Acceleration's primary Point of Presence (PoP) and home office. The facility is equipped to provide partial or full cabinet space. Its total fully built-out whitespace is 2,100 square feet, providing a significant amount of data center floor space for client deployments.

The data center has a fully built-out power capacity of 1.2 MW. The maximum power density is 0.3 kW per square foot, ensuring sufficient power for high-density equipment. The entire hardware solution in the Gainesville Data Center is exclusively APC brand, a well-known provider of power and cooling solutions for data centers.

The facility employs robust security measures, including CCTV surveillance and card access control, to restrict unauthorized entry. For fire safety, the data center is equipped with a dry pipe fire suppression system, designed to extinguish fires without damaging sensitive electronic equipment.

Acceleration’s network provides homogenous WAN solutions, which simplifies connectivity for clients by bridging gaps between various carrier footprints. Local connectivity in the North Florida region ranges from 2 Mb Ethernet to 10 Gb Ethernet and dark fiber. Nationwide connectivity, available through any of Acceleration's PoPs, extends from ADSL to 1 Gb Ethernet. The company has twelve carrier interconnections and two network providers, ensuring diverse and redundant connectivity options.

The Gainesville Data Center offers Remote Hands services for clients needing on-site technical assistance. The available cabinet options include Full Cabinets, Partial Cabinets, and Shared Rackspace, providing flexible solutions to accommodate varying client needs.
