365 Data Centers (SungardAS Thornton)

The facility features a 20,000 sq. ft. raised floor data center supported by a 24-inch raised floor system, offering ample space for high-density equipment deployment. It includes customizable cages, cabinets, two- and four-post racks, and custom suites, ensuring flexible configurations for diverse enterprise needs. The site is part of a nationwide footprint of 20 U.S. locations, encompassing 1,000,000 sq. ft. overall, with 512,000 sq. ft. built and backed by 1,800 tons of cooling and N+1 UPS configurations for operational reliability.

Fire Detection and Suppression

Advanced fire protection includes dry-pipe pre-action fire suppression, FIKE fire detection systems, and VESDA (Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus) for precision sensing and early intervention. These layered systems provide proactive protection across the environment, safeguarding critical equipment and minimizing risk. The facility’s commitment to safety is further enforced through continuous system monitoring by onsite personnel.

Environmental Controls

Environmental integrity is maintained through a robust cooling and monitoring ecosystem composed of (23) 24-ton Data Aire CRAC units, (4) 30-ton Ecosaire DX CRAC units, and an ultrasonic humidification system. The data center supports 24/7 environmental monitoring, ensuring consistent operating conditions for hardware. Combined with hybrid DVR camera systems, the facility ensures both environmental stability and visual oversight, contributing to operational continuity.

Power Management

The data center is equipped with 80 MW of power, offering 120V and 208V AC, single and three-phase power, and –48V DC options. Power resiliency is strengthened by (3) redundant 500 kVA UPS systems, (1) redundant 400 kVA UPS system, and (3) 1,400 kVA Cummins Synergy diesel generators supported by an 8,000-gallon fuel tank. Additional reliability from two N+1 public utility feeds and 24/7 power monitoring ensures uninterrupted service delivery even during utility disruptions.

Connectivity and Network Capabilities

The facility offers high-performance connectivity through the Sungard AS–Juniper Systems Internet mesh platform, featuring four Juniper EX4200 access switches, two Juniper MX80 customer access routers, and three DS-3s for PTP T1 and frame-relay connections. Diverse fiber entry paths enhance redundancy, while access to major carriers—including CenturyLink, AT&T, Verizon, Zayo, Comcast, Unite Private Networks, and TW Telecom/Level 3—ensures broad reach. Communication is streamlined with AVAYA Aura VOIP, automated attendants, ACD, call recording, and voicemail.

Work Area Recovery Facilities

The site includes 200 shared work area recovery positions, divided into multiple securable recovery spaces to support business continuity for clients. These spaces allow organizations to restore critical functions quickly during disruptions, with the added support of a 24/7 staffed network operations center overseeing operations. Combined with flexible cage and suite options, the facility supports both standard and custom recovery strategies.

Physical Security and Compliance

Security is enforced through multiple physical layers, including biometric scanners, card readers at entrances, mantrap access points, and locking cages and cabinets. The data center employs the C-Cure badge control system, along with 24/7 CCTV and DVR recording, ensuring continuous monitoring of internal and external areas. Holding ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification, the facility maintains strict security protocols and controlled procedures to safeguard client assets.
