The new facility expands the company's reach in the U.S., making it their 14th location nationwide and demonstrating a rapid pace of growth in their cloud and colocation offerings. This expansion is designed to meet increasing customer demand, particularly in the western United States.
Facility Specifications and Capacity
The newly announced facility is a substantial addition, boasting a total building size of 32,000 sq ft (3,000 sqm). It offers 18,500 sq ft (1,700 sqm) of raised floor space, which is the dedicated area for IT infrastructure. Critically, the facility is equipped with a Fully Built-Out Power of 1.6 MW and a capacity to support up to 31,000 physical servers. It is engineered with robust power redundancy, including a 2N UPS Redundancy configuration to ensure continuous uptime and reliability. The colocation space within the facility is versatile, offering full cabinets, partial cabinets, shared rackspace, and custom cages/footprints.
Ownership and Operational Agreement
The new location was acquired by Expedient from Digital Fortress, an operational maneuver confirmed to DCD as a handover with additional capacity investment from Expedient. While Expedient has taken over operations and is expanding the infrastructure, Digital Fortress has retained ownership of the facility and has fully leased (100 percent) the space to Expedient. This leasing agreement structure is a notable point, highlighting a strong partnership between the two companies as Expedient enters this new market.

The data center is built to meet stringent industry-standard compliance and security requirements, which is essential for enterprise customers. It is PCI Compliant, HIPAA Compliant, and has received certifications including SOC 1 Type I Certified and SOC 2 Type I Certified, alongside being SSAE 18 Audited. Beyond physical colocation, the facility serves as an on-ramp for Expedient's suite of multi-cloud services, including their "Cloud Different" vision, offering remote hands services and support for hybrid-IT operations to its customers.
