EdgeConneX (EDCDEN01)

The Denver EdgeConneX Edge Data Center (EDC) is a purpose-built, strategically located facility designed to offer secure colocation services. Its primary goal is to provide customers with the lowest possible latency for delivering content and applications directly to local-market consumers. By partnering with local network and cable operators, this carrier-neutral facility ensures the shortest and fastest routes for content delivery to both consumer and enterprise subscribers, as well as general Internet customers.

Power and Capacity Specifications

The EDC is equipped with robust infrastructure to support high-density deployments. The fully built-out power capacity is 3 MW, serving a fully built-out whitespace of 9,300 sq. ft. The total building size spans 29,800 sq. ft. Customers can utilize a range of colocation options, including full cabinets, partial cabinets, shared rackspace, cages, build-to-suit footprints, and remote hands services. The maximum power available per rack is 20 kW, with a maximum power density per area of 0.6 kW/sq. ft.

Reliability and Tier Classification

To guarantee exceptional uptime, the facility incorporates N+1 redundancy for all critical systems, covering UPS, cooling, and standby power. The data center's design adheres to the rigorous requirements of a Tier 3 facility, indicating robust infrastructure, multiple independent paths for power and cooling, and components that allow for planned maintenance without service interruption.

Security and Compliance Certifications

Security is paramount at the Denver EDC, which is protected by several layers of physical and digital safeguards. Access control measures include a mantrap entry, CCTV surveillance, biometric access control, and card access control. The center is DSS PCI Compliant and holds key certifications, including ISO 27001, HIPAA, and SOC 2 Type II Certified, confirming adherence to strict standards for information security, health data protection, and operational reporting.

Network Connectivity

The facility is highly connected to support optimal edge content delivery. It hosts a local Internet Exchange Point (IXP) and features six peering networks, ensuring efficient traffic exchange. Additionally, the EDC is served by 11 network providers, offering customers a variety of options to connect and deliver their services to the local market. This carrier-neutral environment maximizes connectivity choice and speed.

Building Features and Operational Support

The building itself is a purpose-built structure featuring a raised floor throughout. Essential amenities include dedicated office space and WiFi access. Fire safety is managed by an automatic fire suppression system that utilizes pre-action, zoned dry-pipe sprinkler systems with zoned maintenance aisles and separate suites to minimize potential damage. Furthermore, onsite technical staff are available 24/7 to provide immediate support.
