ColoCrossing (CH1) Data Center

ColoCrossing extends its global reach through the state-of-the-art DuPont Fabros CH1 facility, located in Elk Grove Village, IL, just outside of Chicago. Designed with enterprise customers in mind, the CH1 data center delivers high availability and performance with robust redundancy across all critical systems.

The CH1 facility boasts a total building size of 485,000 sq. ft., with 460,000 sq. ft. of fully built-out whitespace. It is supported by a massive fully built-out power capacity of 36.4 MW. ColoCrossing provides flexible hosting options, including full cabinets, partial cabinets, shared rackspace, and cages to accommodate diverse business requirements. Operational since 2008, CH1 has been engineered to support high-density deployments in a reliable environment.

The data center operates with a 2N+1 redundancy model across its key infrastructure components. This includes UPS systems, cooling systems, and standby power generation, ensuring uninterrupted operations even under failure or maintenance scenarios. The design guarantees resilient and efficient performance for mission-critical workloads.

CH1 maintains strict physical security protocols. These include 24/7 onsite security staff, CCTV surveillance, biometric access control, and card access control. Together, these measures safeguard the facility from unauthorized access while maintaining compliance with industry security standards.

The facility leverages ColoCrossing’s diverse-path fiber ring to ensure redundant and reliable connections to its backbone network. This guarantees a highly resilient interconnection environment with optimal performance. CH1 also maintains one active peering network to support seamless connectivity for its customers.

The CH1 facility is SAS 70 Type II compliant, adhering to industry-recognized standards that validate the effectiveness of its controls and operational processes. This compliance further ensures customer confidence in the reliability and integrity of the environment.
