The Atlanta EdgeConneX Edge Data Center (EDC) is strategically designed and purpose-built to provide secure colocation services with ultra-low latency for local-market content and application delivery. By partnering with regional network and cable operators, this carrier-neutral facility ensures optimal routing and minimal latency for both consumer and enterprise customers.
The facility is equipped with a fully built-out power capacity of 4 MW, supporting a maximum of 20 kW per rack and 0.6 kW per square foot. To ensure reliability, the UPS system is designed with N+1 redundancy, providing continuous protection against power interruptions. The cooling infrastructure also follows an N+1 redundancy model, maintaining consistent temperature and environmental conditions for critical equipment. Additionally, the standby power system operates with N+1 redundancy, ensuring uninterrupted operations even during utility power outages.
Security at the Atlanta EDC is a top priority, with comprehensive protection systems in place. These include mantrap entry, biometric and card access controls, and 24/7 onsite security staff. CCTV surveillance monitors the facility continuously. Fire protection is handled by a pre-action, zoned dry-pipe sprinkler system with separate maintenance aisles and suites to prevent accidental activation and allow localized containment.
Clients can choose from a wide array of service options including full cabinets, partial cabinets, shared rackspace, cages, and build-to-suit solutions. Remote hands support is also available to assist with on-site operational needs.
The facility offers additional conveniences such as office space and WiFi, creating a supportive environment for IT teams and visiting personnel.
EdgeConneX Atlanta EDC adheres to rigorous industry standards with a Tier 3 design. It holds multiple certifications including DSS PCI, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and SOC 2 Type II, ensuring data security and compliance for a range of regulated industries.
The data center supports strong interconnectivity with one Internet Exchange Point and three peering networks, providing clients with resilient and high-performance connectivity options.
