DataBank (ATL2 - Atlanta West End)

Previously known as AtlantaNAP (operated by Colo Facilities / GNAX), this facility was acquired by Zayo/zColo in 2014 and later became part of DataBank’s portfolio in 2020 following the acquisition of all zColo data center assets. Spanning 52,610 square feet with 4 MW of power capacity, the Atlanta NAP data center continues to serve as a mission-critical infrastructure hub.

Power Infrastructure
Atlanta NAP is designed to support highly power-dense applications, with dual feeds from the electrical grid and a redundant paralleled power system featuring a full wrap-around bypass. This setup enables maintenance without any power disruptions. The UPS is supported by a state-of-the-art generator system running in an N+1 configuration, fully automated and computer-controlled. Cummins turbocharged generators, paired with a digital fuel management system from Simplex and Veeder-Root, are fueled by 150-gallon day tanks connected to a 12,000-gallon reserve via redundant pumps.
Cooling Systems
The facility currently operates with 1,000 tons of cooling capacity and is pre-engineered to support up to 2,000 tons, ensuring long-term thermal reliability. Cooling infrastructure is deployed in N+1 format, including both towers and redundant pump systems. Additionally, a 30,000-gallon reserve water tank provides backup in the event of a city water supply failure.
Security
Security at Atlanta NAP is comprehensive, beginning at the perimeter with a 10-foot-high razor wire fence, extensive camera coverage, and 24/7 lighting. Access is controlled via keycard systems, biometric hand scanners, and monitored entry gates. Once inside, equipment is secured within locked cabinets or cages, and all asset movement is logged by onsite guards. Security personnel include a sworn, armed police officer with arrest authority.
Fire Protection
The data center employs a dual interlock dry pipe fire suppression system. This setup uses high-tech smoke detectors that switch the pipes from air to water only when needed. Water is discharged only in affected zones, and all systems are monitored via a centralized building management system. Floor drains on 20-foot centers help quickly evacuate water during system activation.
Amenities
Atlanta NAP provides free parking for staff, clients, and visitors. It also offers executive office space for corporate and technical operations. Eleven offices—ranging from 100 to 200 square feet—were sold out within two months, with additional office space planned as part of a future expansion.
Compliance
The facility meets several industry compliance standards, including DSS PCI, ISO 27001, HIPAA, FISMA, and SSAE 18, ensuring secure and regulated data management for various industries.
Connectivity and Tenancy
Atlanta NAP hosts 4 peering networks and is served by 3 network providers. Two tenants currently offer colocation services within the facility, enhancing interconnectivity and operational flexibility for clients.
