The MCR2 campus is a premier data center facility strategically situated in the heart of one of the Manchester Airport City Enterprise Zones. This purpose-built, two-story structure, which became fully operational in 2025, offers a sophisticated technical environment designed for high-performance computing. Spanning a total whitespace of 4,153 square meters, the facility provides 22,000 square feet of technical space capable of housing 320 racks across five dedicated data halls, ensuring ample room for enterprise-level scaling.

Engineered to support demanding workloads, the facility boasts a fully built-out power capacity of 4 MW. Clients benefit from exceptional flexibility, with power densities averaging 3.5 kW per rack but scalable up to a massive 30 kW per rack for high-density requirements. To ensure uninterrupted service, the power infrastructure is designed with 2N UPS redundancy and 2N standby power redundancy, meeting the rigorous standards of a Tier 3 design.

MCR2 prioritizes operational efficiency through its state-of-the-art climate control systems. The facility utilizes 2N cooling redundancy to maintain optimal temperatures even during hardware failures or maintenance cycles. These environmentally efficient cooling systems are closely aligned with modern green energy initiatives, reducing the carbon footprint of the data center while maintaining the thermal stability required for sensitive electronic equipment.

Security is a cornerstone of the MCR2 campus, featuring an on-site police-linked, NSI Gold Approved, and BS5979 certified control room. The facility is protected by 24/7 on-site security staff and comprehensive ISO27001 certified CCTV surveillance. Access is strictly managed through a multi-factor authentication process involving biometric access controls and secure card readers, ensuring that only authorized personnel can enter the technical spaces.

To safeguard critical hardware and data, the facility is equipped with advanced fire protection technology. This includes a Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus (VESDA) system that provides "double knock" detection for maximum accuracy. In the event of an emergency, an automatic fire suppression system utilizes a specialized fire extinguishant designed to neutralize threats quickly without damaging the electronic components housed within the halls.

MCR2 offers a diverse range of deployment options, from shared rackspace and partial cabinets to dedicated cages and private suites. As a fully carrier and cloud-neutral facility, it ensures seamless integration with all leading service providers, allowing for high-speed, low-latency connectivity. Furthermore, the campus offers "Remote Hands" support, providing on-site technical assistance to help clients manage their infrastructure without needing to be physically present.
