Cyxtera operates a robust network of five data centre campuses strategically positioned across London Docklands, Slough, and Reading. These locations are seamlessly linked via direct, low latency fiber routes, ensuring high speed data transfer and consistent performance across the portfolio. By maintaining a footprint in these key areas, Cyxtera provides nearly 16,000 square meters of raised floor space and more than 30MW of utility power, specifically designed to meet the expanding IT infrastructure demands of the Greater London Area.

The geographical distribution of these facilities is tailored to support London’s most critical economic sectors. The two London based data centres offer vital proximity to major financial trading hubs and foreign exchange platforms, while also serving as a primary hosting ground for the city’s professional services and legal sectors. Conversely, the Slough and Reading facilities are positioned along the M4 corridor, making them an ideal choice for the high tech companies clustered in that region. This distribution allows clients to implement resilient dual data centre solutions and effective disaster recovery strategies.

The Cyxtera Docklands campus is located in the center of the Docklands Financial District, offering exceptional accessibility for urban enterprises. It sits just 15 minutes from Central London and 17 minutes from London City Airport, with comprehensive access to public transit networks. To ensure maximum uptime and safety, the site is carefully positioned outside of airport flight paths and away from COMAH Control of Major Accident Hazards sites, significantly reducing the risk of external environmental disruptions.

The LHR2 facility is a specialized two story steel frame and metal clad building designed for high density IT operations. It offers 1,198 square meters of fully built out whitespace within a total building footprint of 1,685 square meters. The site supports 0.5 MW of power with a maximum density of 0.100 kW per square meter. To ensure continuous operation, the facility utilizes an N plus 1 redundancy configuration for its UPS, cooling systems, and standby power. Built to Tier 3 design standards, it accommodates everything from full and partial cabinets to dedicated cages and private suites.

Security is a cornerstone of the LHR2 infrastructure, featuring a multi layered defense strategy that includes 24 by 7 on site security staff, CCTV surveillance, and mantrap entries. Access is strictly controlled through biometric and card based systems. The facility meets rigorous global standards, holding certifications for ISO27001, DSS PCI, SOC 1 and SOC 2 Type II, and SSAE 18. Furthermore, the building is protected by an FM200 gas fire suppression system and automatic fire suppression technologies to safeguard hardware from environmental threats.

Beyond the technical hardware, the campus provides a comprehensive suite of Remote Hands and on site support services to assist with infrastructure management. The facility is equipped with raised floors, dedicated Meet Me Rooms for interconnection, and access to 11 peering networks. For the convenience of visiting staff and technicians, the site also includes on site office spaces, conference rooms, breakrooms, WiFi, and essential maintenance tools such as crash carts, ensuring a productive environment for both remote and physical hardware management.
