Equinix LD3 is a premier, purpose built International Business Exchange IBX data center situated in a prime location within the City of London. Spanning a total area of 3,900 square meters, the facility features 2,700 square meters of fully built out whitespace. This strategically located hub provides exceptional accessibility through robust communication links, extensive transport networks, and proximity to major airports, further complemented by convenient no charge onsite parking for visitors and staff.

The facility is designed to accommodate a wide variety of business scales and technical requirements. It offers a comprehensive suite of colocation options, including full and partial cabinets, shared rackspace, and secure cages. For larger enterprises requiring more significant footprints or dedicated environments, private suites are also available. These flexible configurations ensure that businesses can scale their physical presence efficiently while maintaining high density deployments.

To ensure maximum uptime and operational continuity, LD3 utilizes a sophisticated power architecture. The Uninterruptible Power Supply system operates on a highly resilient 2N plus 1 redundancy configuration. This is supported by a standby power system featuring an N plus 1 redundancy model, driven by three 2,200 kVA diesel generators. This robust setup guarantees that the critical infrastructure remains powered even in the event of a total grid failure.

Maintaining optimal hardware performance requires precise climate management. LD3 employs independent cooling units coupled with glycol circuits and dry air coolers to manage heat dissipation effectively. The facility also features a raised floor design, which facilitates efficient airflow and cable management. This specialized environmental control system ensures that the hardware remains within strict temperature and humidity parameters to prevent overheating and equipment degradation.

Security is paramount at LD3, featuring a rigorous multi layered approach to protect physical assets. The facility is equipped with a mantrap entry system, biometric access controls, and card based access to prevent unauthorized entry. Surveillance is maintained through 24 by 7 CCTV monitoring and onsite security personnel. These measures, combined with strict access protocols, provide a highly secure environment for sensitive data and high value hardware.

The data center is protected by advanced fire detection and suppression technology designed to minimize damage to electronic components. It utilizes a HI FOG pre action water mist system, which is intelligently triggered via a double knock detection fire alarm. This system provides effective fire suppression while significantly reducing the risks associated with traditional water sprinklers, ensuring that accidental discharges do not compromise the integrity of the servers.

As a network neutral facility, LD3 offers connectivity to over 15 networks, including 16 peering networks and multiple network providers. The site is supported by 24 by 7 onsite technical Remote Hands staff to assist with troubleshooting and maintenance. Additionally, the facility enhances the user experience with onsite amenities such as conference rooms, breakrooms, WiFi, and essential hardware support tools including crash carts and loaner tools.
