Elasticity’s data centre is situated in the premier high tech M4 corridor of Slough, positioning it within Europe’s largest data centre estate. This prime location offers a significant geographical advantage, providing a potential audience reach of over 12 million people in the London metropolitan area. The facility is strategically interconnected for low latency fibre routes and IP transit, making it a critical hub for the public and enterprise services sectors, as well as a primary gateway for onwards connectivity to global Forex platforms.

The facility is engineered for high density requirements, boasting a fully built out power capacity of 1.6 MW, with the ability to scale up to 2.0 MVA to support evolving IT needs. Reliability is managed through an on line double conversion UPS system with 2N redundancy, ensuring continuous operation. The site operates with a Power Usage Effectiveness of 1.6, utilizing backup generators in an N+1 redundancy configuration to guarantee 100 percent uptime for mission critical client hardware.

Spanning a total building size of 1,500 square metres, the data centre features 1,000 square metres of fully built out whitespace on a raised floor system. The retrofitted two story building is designed to handle a maximum floor load of 1,223 kilograms per square metre and offers a generous floor to ceiling height of 360 centimetres. Clients have access to diverse deployment options, ranging from shared rackspace and partial cabinets to full cabinets, dedicated cages, and private suites.

To maintain optimal hardware performance, the data centre utilizes a chilled water and free cooling system designed with N+1 redundancy. This ensures that even during equipment maintenance or unforeseen failures, the ambient temperature remains stable. Fire safety is prioritized through an automatic Hi Fog water mist suppression system, providing an advanced layer of protection for the 10,000 square feet of raised floor space without the risks associated with traditional sprinkler systems.

The facility is a fortress of digital and physical security, holding prestigious certifications including ISO27001, ISO9001, PCI DSS, and SOC 2 Type II. Physical access is strictly governed by a fenced perimeter, mantrap entries, and 24 hour onsite security personnel. Protection is further bolstered by continuous CCTV surveillance and multi factor authentication, including biometric and card access controls, ensuring that only authorized personnel can enter the white space.

As a carrier neutral facility, the Slough site hosts six distinct network providers within its dedicated Meet Me Room. This ecosystem allows for diverse routing and carrier redundancy, which is essential for the low latency requirements of the Hi Tech sector. The facility’s role as a resilient data centre solution or a backup disaster recovery site is reinforced by its proximity to London Heathrow Airport at 20 minutes and its direct rail links to Central London.

Operational since 2008, the facility is managed by onsite technical staff during business hours, with remote hands services available to assist clients with hardware tasks. Beyond the server room, the site offers comprehensive amenities including conference rooms, breakrooms, and a loading bay. For visiting engineers, Elasticity provides essential onsite tools such as crash carts, loaner tools, and WiFi, complemented by dedicated parking for easy access during maintenance windows.
