The Virtus Enfield data center (LONDON1) is a concurrently maintainable Tier III facility specializing in design, build, and operation. Located in a low-profile area with excellent transport links, it provides a robust and secure environment for various colocation services, from individual racks to private data halls. The facility emphasizes reliability, security, and sustainability, featuring redundant systems for power and cooling, and numerous industry certifications.

The Enfield facility offers a substantial 32,000 sq ft (2,900 sq m) of technical space, with a fully built-out power capacity of 4.2 MW. This flexible design supports colocation services for individual racks, partial cabinets, shared rackspace, cages, and private suites. It is equipped for high-density computing, with rack power densities ranging from 3 kW to 10 kW, and a maximum supported power per rack of 15 kW.

Power is delivered via two 8 MVA active-active incoming supplies, ensuring a highly resilient feed. The electrical infrastructure includes a minimum of 1.5 kW per square meter of power density and an N+1 UPS configuration for uninterruptible power. Standby power is provided by N+1 diesel generators with a capacity for 72 hours of continuous power at full load. The cooling system is based on a chilled water infrastructure delivered via a dual-fed, highly resilient ring circuit. All chillers and Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) units are in an N+1 configuration and are designed for concurrent maintainability, including a free-cooling functionality for increased energy efficiency. The facility uses a cold aisle containment strategy to optimize cooling.

The site is designed with a low-profile, non-branded exterior to avoid attention. Security measures are comprehensive and include a perimeter fence, security bollards, and monitored CCTV surveillance throughout the facility. On-site NSI Gold-accredited security personnel are present 24x7x365. Access is strictly controlled, with all personnel processed at a secure reception, and access to technical areas is restricted by biometric scanning equipment. Each data hall also has unique access protocols. For fire protection, the facility uses a 'Hi-Fog' water mist fire suppression system.

The data center is carrier-neutral, providing a wide range of connectivity options, including Dark Fibre, Wavelengths, VPLS & MPLS, Ethernet, and IP. To ensure network resilience, there are two diverse meet-me-rooms and diverse routing of fiber within the data center. The facility provides access to a large number of peering networks and network providers, along with direct connections to key cloud and connectivity platforms.

Virtus Enfield is certified to several key industry standards, including PCI DSS Compliance for secure cardholder data environments. It holds certifications for ISO 27001 (Information Security Management), ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety), and ISO 50001 (Energy Management). The facility's design is Tier III certified, ensuring high availability and concurrent maintainability.

For customer convenience, the facility offers a 24x7 helpdesk, Remote Hands capabilities for on-site support, and hot desks with power and network points. The site also provides on-site car parking, and its location is highly accessible, being only 2.5 miles from the M25 and with a direct 30-minute rail connection to London Liverpool Street.
