Strategically nestled in the heart of London’s technological hub, the Rackspace LON8 data center stands as a testament to modern data infrastructure. The facility provides an expansive 7,561 square meters, approximately 81,385 square feet, of raised whitespace, meticulously designed to house high density computing environments. With a fully built out power capacity of 17 MW, the site offers versatile deployment options ranging from shared rackspace and partial cabinets to full cabinets and private cages, catering to a diverse array of enterprise needs.

To maintain optimal performance for high density hardware, LON8 employs a sophisticated thermal management strategy. The facility operates two separate plants, each featuring three 900kWr air cooled package chillers. This configuration delivers a total cooling capacity of 3,600kWr with N+1 redundancy, ensuring that even during equipment maintenance or failure, the temperature remains stable. This robust cooling architecture is essential for preserving the longevity of hardware and maintaining consistent operational efficiency.

Uptime is the cornerstone of the LON8 mission, backed by a comprehensive 100 percent Network Uptime Guarantee. The electrical infrastructure is engineered for total resilience, utilizing N+1 redundancy across UPS systems, standby power, and cooling units. This multi layered backup strategy ensures that in the event of a grid failure, the data center transitions seamlessly to its backup power sources without any interruption to client services or digital assets.

Security at LON8 is managed through a defense in depth approach, combining physical barriers with advanced technology. The perimeter and interior are monitored by 24/7 onsite security staff and comprehensive CCTV surveillance. Access is strictly controlled via a multi factor process involving biometric scanners, key card access, and specialized alarms. These measures create a high security environment that effectively safeguards sensitive physical infrastructure against unauthorized entry or external threats.

Beyond power and security, the facility is equipped with industry leading safety and support systems. Fire protection is managed by a Double Interlocked Dry Pipe Pre Action Sprinkler System and laser based smoke detection, minimizing the risk of accidental water damage while providing rapid response to fire threats. Furthermore, the facility is staffed 24/7 by onsite technical experts providing Remote Hands services, ensuring that any hardware issues or maintenance requirements can be addressed instantly, day or night.
