Informatics Engineering Services Limited launched its purpose-built data center in 2015, establishing one of the largest and most advanced facilities in the Caribbean and Latin America. Located in central Trinidad, the center supports co-location services and serves as the hub for the company's sales, technical, Network Operations Center (NOC), and administrative operations. The entire facility was designed and commissioned by Informatics itself, with strategic support from Schneider Electric.
Tier III Standards and Infrastructure
The data center meets Tier III standards, signifying high availability and the capacity for concurrent maintenance. Its robust infrastructure is engineered for resilience, ensuring an impressive 99.98% uptime. Key components include redundant Symmetra PX250 Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, dual 300 kW generators, and three Carrier chilled-water chillers. The facility has a fully built-out power capacity of 0.3 MW and a maximum power per rack of 9 kW.
Operational Oversight and Security
Continuous and reliable service is maintained through constant operational oversight. The facility features continuous environmental monitoring and 24/7 oversight provided by Informatics' in-house NOC team. This dedicated staffing ensures that clients receive reliable and secure hosting solutions, complete with Remote Hands service available upon request.
Initial Occupancy and Capacity
The center offers flexible hosting options, including Full Cabinets, Partial Cabinets, and Shared Rackspace. Phase 1 of the center's co-location space was fully utilized by its first major client, Digicel-Trinidad. Digicel occupied 46 racks, with individual power capacities ranging from 0 to 9 kW, immediately underscoring the facility's significant capacity and high-density power capabilities.
FirePASS Hypoxic Fire Prevention System
A standout feature that reinforces the center's commitment to safety and innovation is the FirePASS Hypoxic Fire Prevention system. This is the first system of its kind in the region, providing proactive fire prevention. It works by maintaining oxygen levels below the combustion threshold, yet remains entirely safe for human occupancy.

Following the successful deployment, Informatics became the authorized regional distributor for FirePASS.
