Launched in mid-2022, Wingu Africa's Tier 3 data center in Dar es Salaam marks a significant milestone for Tanzania's digital economy. It holds the distinction of being the country's first integrated carrier-neutral data center and cable landing station. This facility is a key component of a broader strategic network, connecting Tanzania to other data centers across East Africa and fostering regional digital integration.

The facility boasts advanced connectivity, ensuring robust and reliable internet services through simplified interconnects and access to multiple sub-sea and regional cable systems, including 6 peering networks. The physical infrastructure is built around 42U racks that feature added depth, specifically designed for efficient wiring and optimal airflow management. To ensure high security, each rack is secured with unique locks, permitting access only to authorized personnel.

Wingu Africa provides a range of flexible colocation services tailored to different client needs. Customers can choose from facilities in managed client areas or secure private cages, with options including Full Cabinets, Partial Cabinets, and Shared Rackspace. The carrier-neutral environment gives clients the freedom to connect with a variety of network operators and ISPs, and services like Remote Hands are available for support.

Designed for high availability, the data center provides an uninterrupted power supply with a fully built-out capacity of 3 MW. Security is comprehensive, featuring 24/7 onsite guarding, CCTV surveillance, and secure perimeter and building controls. Access is strictly managed through biometric access controls, and the facility is protected by an automated inert gas fire suppression system to safeguard critical equipment.
