Data11 holds the distinction of being the first carrier-neutral data center based in Solothurn, Switzerland. Developed and managed by BSE Software GmbH, the facility was designed to provide a high-level technical environment for clients seeking independence from specific service providers. By maintaining a carrier-neutral status, Data11 allows businesses to connect with various network providers, ensuring flexibility and competitive connectivity options within a single location.

The facility is strategically positioned to serve the major economic hubs of Switzerland. Located just minutes from the Solothurn West motorway exit, it is highly accessible for on-site maintenance and hardware management. Data11 is situated within a one-hour drive of Zurich, Basel, and Bern, making it an ideal middle-ground hub. To facilitate ease of access for technicians and clients, the center also provides ample parking space directly in front of the building.

Operational since 2011, Data11 is a retrofitted, multi-tenant facility that offers a total of 500 square meters of fully built-out whitespace. The design supports a maximum power density of 1 kW/sq.m catering to modern computing needs. While the current space is substantial, the facility is also designed with expandable whitespace in mind, allowing for future growth as client demands for data storage and processing power increase.

Data11 offers a versatile range of colocation services tailored to different business scales. Clients can choose from shared rackspace, partial cabinet (1/4 or 1/2 rack) configurations, or full cabinet colocation. For those requiring higher levels of physical isolation, the center provides colocation cages and private suites. Beyond physical space, Data11 offers Remote Hands services, providing on-site technical assistance to manage equipment without the client needing to be physically present.

The network architecture at Data11 is built for resilience and variety. It features a dedicated Meet-Me-Room (MMR), which serves as the central hub for interconnection between different carriers and customers. Currently, the facility hosts five peering networks and two primary network providers, ensuring that data traffic remains fast and redundant. This infrastructure allows for seamless integration into the global digital economy while keeping local latency low.

Engineered to Tier 3 standards and ISO 27001 certified, Data11 prioritizes maximum uptime and data protection. Security is maintained through 24/7 CCTV surveillance and strict card access control systems. To protect hardware from fire hazards, the facility utilizes an Inergen extinguishing system, an automatic fire suppression method that is safe for electronic equipment and the environment, ensuring that operations continue safely even in emergency scenarios.
