With the commissioning of its second data center in Gossau in 2024, RZO has significantly bolstered its service portfolio. This facility serves as an ideal complement to the original site, offering customers optimal geo redundancy and disaster recovery options. This dual site strategy ensures that even in the event of a localized catastrophe, client data remains secure and accessible, providing a level of business continuity that is vital for modern digital operations.

The Gossau site is a masterclass in space optimization, featuring a retrofitted construction designed for high density performance. The facility offers 300 square meters of fully built out whitespace and a total power capacity of 1 megawatt. To accommodate diverse business needs, RZO provides a variety of colocation options, ranging from shared rackspace and partial cabinets to full cabinets and build to suit cages, supporting a maximum power density of 11 kilowatts per rack.

Engineered to Tier 3 standards, the data center is built on a foundation of no single point of failure. The power infrastructure boasts 2N redundancy for both UPS systems and standby power, ensuring continuous operation during grid fluctuations. To manage the thermal load of modern hardware, the cooling systems utilize an N plus 1 redundancy configuration, maintaining an optimal environment for sensitive server equipment year round.

Security at RZO Gossau is multi layered and rigorous, meeting the prestigious ISO27001 certification standards. The physical perimeter is protected by CCTV surveillance and a mantrap entry system to prevent tailgating. Internal access is strictly governed by biometric access control, ensuring that only authorized personnel can enter the whitespace. This fortress approach provides customers with total peace of mind regarding the physical integrity of their hardware.
