Mediacloud Data Center

MediaCloud manages over 3,000 m² of ICT infrastructure across six data processing centers scattered globally. The company's main focus is on providing cloud computing services (Housing, Hosting, IaaS, and PaaS). Each of the six data centers has achieved at least a Tier 3 certification by Uptime Institute. The centers are designed with a fully built-out whitespace of 1,000 sq.m., offering flexible tenancy options including Full Cabinets, Partial Cabinets, and Shared Rackspace. The maximum power per area is specified as 10 kW/sq.m..

MediaCloud, as the lead technology company of the Mediapro group, is specialized in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), multimedia environments, and audiovisual broadcasting. They offer a range of ICT services to customers, including Housing, Hosting, Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), and Platform as a Service (PaaS). Their approach uses a distributed application model across their global data centers to ensure data security, minimize risks, and maximize efficiencies. Beyond cloud services, MediaCloud also designs and implements projects, integrates systems, and offers consulting, installation, and maintenance services globally. The strategic focus is supported by the acquisition of telecom operators Overon and Xarxa Oberta.

The power supply is designed for high security and redundancy. Electricity is received at medium or high voltage and converted to low voltage (230/380V) for installations using transformers. There are two separate power points for supply security, and the transformers maintain an N+1 level of redundancy. For backup power, generators with an N+1 redundancy level are installed to supply power during external faults, with a range to last several days. These generators are checked and tested weekly. Additionally, Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) ensure continuous power, providing 10 minutes of autonomy—sufficient time for the generators to activate. The UPS systems have an N+1 redundancy level in all centers, with some having 2(N+1), and are three-dimensional modular, class 1 units with a certified performance of up to 99%.

All six data processing centers are certified as at least Tier 3 by the Uptime Institute. The facility is ISO 27001 Certified (Information Security Management) and ISO 50001 Certified (Energy Management). The Tier Design is Tier 3 and the Tier Certification is Tier 3. The data center became operational in 2013.

MediaCloud ensures high-level security with Onsite Security Staff available 24/7. Services like Remote Hands are available to customers. The main operational hubs include headquarters and offices in Barcelona, Madrid, Lisbon, Paris, Miami, Buenos Aires, and Dubai.

The MediaCloud nodes possess networks with a physical presence and fully redundant physical paths. These networks have capacities of 10G and are located in key interconnection buildings: Telvent Barcelona, Interxion Madrid, and the office in Madrid. The facility includes a Meet-Me-Room (MMR) for interconnection.
