NXDATA-1 is a Tier 3 compliant colocation center strategically located in the Pipera area of Bucharest, a key business district. The facility operates as a multi-tenant environment, supported by 24/7 on-site staff, technical assistance, and security guards. Additional services such as Remote Hands & Eyes and First Level Maintenance are available to customers. It became operational in 2002, following the modernization of the former industrial building between 2003 and 2006.
Facility Design & Capacity
The data center is housed in the Feper building, a retrofitted 5-level industrial structure originally built as a computer peripheral equipment factory. Designed to handle heavy loads, it supports up to 1,000 kg/sq.m. of static floor load. The total building area spans approximately 5,000 square meters, with 4,138 square meters dedicated to data center operations. Of this, 2,555 square meters is net data center space with raised floors for colocation. Customers can choose from shared racks, secured cabinets, cages, and suites, with power densities of up to 10 kW per rack.
Power & Cooling Infrastructure
The power infrastructure ensures high availability through 2N redundancy for both UPS systems and diesel generator backups. The facility currently has access to 2MW of power, scalable up to 3MW, with a targeted PUE of 1.5. Cooling is delivered by HVAC units configured with N+1 redundancy to maintain optimal environmental conditions.
Security & Fire Protection
Comprehensive security measures include a fenced perimeter, Mantrap Entry, Card Access Control, and Biometric Access Control, supported by 24/7 on-site security guards and extensive video surveillance. Fire protection is achieved through an automatic suppression system, featuring VESDA (Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus) for early detection and Inert Gas suppression for safe and effective response.
Connectivity & Interconnection
As a neutral colocation hub, NXDATA-1 offers exceptional connectivity. It provides access to major regional IXPs including InterLAN, RoNIX, BalkanX, NetIX, and NL-IX.
