The Equinix MO1 facility is strategically located in the Monterrey area, Mexico’s second-largest market, serving as a vital hub for enterprises, networks, and organizations looking to expand their presence in the Mexican market or requiring low-latency connectivity across the Americas. As a carrier-neutral data center, it offers scalable colocation services such as Full Cabinets, Partial Cabinets, and Shared Rackspace, enabling secure, private interconnection and accelerating digital business growth.
The facility spans 25,000 square feet of gross data center space, with 12,500 square feet dedicated to colocation. It is built with a raised floor system to support flexible equipment deployment and multiple configurations. MO1 is designed to meet high standards of security and operational reliability and provides Remote Hands services to assist customers with on-site equipment management and troubleshooting.
MO1 is equipped with robust infrastructure to ensure high availability and operational resilience. It features 2N electrical redundancy, meaning two fully independent systems support the critical load, ensuring uninterrupted power. Cooling redundancy is N+20%, using an air-cooled system to maintain optimal environmental conditions for mission-critical equipment.
Equinix IBX data centers typically implement a multilayered security approach. This includes 24/7 on-site security personnel, multi-level access control, biometric authentication, and continuous CCTV monitoring. The facility is also equipped with advanced fire detection and suppression systems to protect equipment and data.
As a highly connected, carrier-neutral hub, MO1 offers direct access to numerous networks, content providers, and cloud service platforms. The ecosystem includes approximately 11 peering networks and around 10–11 network providers, including major players such as Oracle, Arelion, Verizon Communications, and Meta. Customers can utilize Equinix Fabric™ for on-demand, software-defined interconnection to global partners and cloud environments, ensuring secure, low-latency performance.
MO1 adheres to globally recognized standards and certifications, reflecting its commitment to operational excellence, security, and energy efficiency. Key certifications include ICREA, ISO 22301 (Business Continuity Management), ISO 27001 (Information Security Management), ISO 50001 (Energy Management), ISO 9001 (Quality Management), PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard), SOC 1 Type II, and SOC 2 Type II.
