KIO Networks (Merida 2)
KIO Merida 2 (MER2) is a Tier II data center facility that began operations in 2019. It is managed with a dedicated NOC for operations and network monitoring, staffed with qualified personnel available around the clock (24/7 technical and security staff).
Facility Design & Capacity
The facility has a fully built-out technical floor area (whitespace) of 89 square meters and features eight ATOM computer rooms. The design includes a raised floor with a floor-to-ceiling height of 2.51 meters (251 cm) from the raised floor. The total fully built-out power capacity is 0.65 MW. Available services include Full Cabinets, Partial Cabinets, Shared Rackspace, and Cages.
Power & Cooling Infrastructure
MER2 features 2N redundancy in both its electrical equipment and cooling systems. The facility is equipped with six redundant 109 kVA UPS systems that provide uninterrupted and filtered power, complemented by an advanced battery monitoring system. Standby power redundancy is 2N, supported by two 500 kW emergency generators with a 4-day diesel reserve. The facility reports a PUE of 2.1.
Security & Fire Protection
Security measures include a fenced perimeter, CCTV surveillance, Card Access Control, and double authentication controls. The 24/7 video surveillance features a 90-day storage capacity. The facility incorporates advanced fire protection systems, which include smoke detectors, early fire detection, and an automatic fire suppression system using a double interlock preaction system.
Connectivity & Interconnection
KIO Merida 2 offers carrier-neutral connectivity and features 2 peering networks. Current on-site carriers include Altan Redes, Bestel, Megacable, Velecom, Ufinet, and Axtel. Services also include Remote Hands.
Certifications & Standards
The data center's design is rated as Tier 2. It has achieved PCI DSS certification for its security controls.
