The entire site is the exclusive property of Baltneta, with no other tenants or activities permitted. Physical security is comprehensive, starting with a perimeter fence distanced 15 meters from the building, which exceeds Tia 942 Tier 3 requirements. The facility features separate driveways and parking for staff and visitors, with the main gate controlled from a security station. An armed security guard is on duty 24/7, supplemented by an additional security team that can arrive in less than 10 minutes. The area is monitored by 36 video cameras. Access control utilizes a two-factor system (card and PIN), and all client access is controlled at both the gate and the building entrance. The building itself is hardened, designed to withstand electromagnetic waves, and constructed with sandwich panel external walls and brick internal walls.
The facility's power infrastructure is designed for 2N redundancy. It is fed by two new transformers, with four lines extending to the building. The switchboards, manufactured by Schneider Electric, are also 2N duplicated and are monitored remotely. In case of a utility power interruption, four Caterpillar diesel generators (520 kW each) take over, with enough fuel for 48 hours of continuous operation. Critical power is maintained by two APC Symmetra PX UPS units, which are N+1 duplicated, achieving a 2(N+1) overall redundancy. These high-efficiency (96%) UPS systems can support the data center's full load for 10 minutes, ensuring a seamless transition to generator power.
High-availability connectivity is ensured by two optical inlets installed through different walls and connected via diverse routes to the Baltneta communications backbone network. The internal network uses high-performance Juniper switching equipment with Virtual Chassis technology, which combines multiple physical switches into a single virtual one. Central switches provide 40 Gbps connectivity, while distribution switches offer 10 Gbps. Network routing is managed by Brocade routers. For direct client connections, more than 200 fibers (expandable to 600) have been installed to the data center through different routes.
The server premises are built using a "building-within-a-building" approach and feature a 50 cm raised floor capable of withstanding 4 t/m² of static weight. A hot aisle containment system is used, with cabinets arranged in rows and the hot aisle sealed with ceilings and doors to optimize cooling efficiency. For fire safety, the facility is protected by an automatic fire extinguishing system that uses an inert gas blend (nitrogen and argon). This system, which does not damage IT equipment, features a 2N cylinder backup, meaning reserve cylinders are always connected and ready.
The data center provides 42U APC AR3150 server cabinets (750 x 1070 mm) with perforated, lockable doors. These cabinets can be equipped with remotely controlled Power Distribution Units (PDUs) that allow for socket-level power monitoring. A comprehensive DCIM (Data Centre Infrastructure Management) system provides proactive monitoring of all infrastructure, including climate and electricity supply, to prevent downtime. Clients are given secure access to the DCIM system, allowing them to monitor video feeds from their cabinet, track power consumption, and view cooling data for their specific equipment. All equipment entering or leaving the facility is tracked in a register.
