The VTEL Jordan data center is systematically organized into four distinct areas: the NMC Room, the Data Center Room, the Power Room, and the Migration Room. This facility is designed to meet high availability standards, evidenced by its Tier 3 designation. It ensures continuous operations through robust redundancy and comprehensive monitoring, including 24x7x364 NMC monitoring and helpdesk with onsite technical staff available 24/7. Security is maintained with CCTV surveillance and restricted physical access.
Power and Cooling Infrastructure
The core power infrastructure is highly resilient. It features two UPS systems, Liebert Emerson Network Power NXa, which feed a single FDC cabinet equipped with two input breakers (Source A and Source B) to provide dual-path power to all cabinets. For backup, a CATERPILLER Model GEP400-1 400 KVA standby diesel generator is connected to a dual ATS cabinet, configured to automatically take over the entire load upon a main power failure.
Furthermore, the facility includes two Liebert Emerson Network Power HPM-type precision air conditioning units and two Emerson Network Power NetSure-type DC systems. The UPS and DC system batteries are housed in a dedicated shelter room located on a special steel structure on the rooftop, which also hosts the generator. Power cables are kept separate from network cables, with power running under the raised floor and network cables on basket trays above the cabinets. A separate earthing system totally distinct from the building's system is also implemented.
Physical Design and Safety Systems
The physical design prioritizes safety, durability, and organization. The Data Center Room utilizes an Access floor of MERO type-5 Wood material with steel covering, measuring 35mm thick and 400mm high. For fire suppression, the data center is equipped with a fire alarm and an Automatic Fire Suppression System using FM200 gas, branded by KIDDLE. The facility also includes essential lighting and emergency lighting kits. For convenience, there are Non-UPS powered power outlets installed under the raised floor for general appliance use.
Connectivity and Hosting Services
VTEL Jordan's connectivity is exceptional, strategically located on protected Domestic and International Fiber Rings. The data center serves as a critical hub, hosting MPLS and Access nodes for international carriers to extend global connectivity into Jordan via the VTEL Jordan fiber network.
