The Sakura Datacenter in Ishikari, Japan, is one of the largest suburban data centers in the country, purpose-built for cloud computing. Leveraging Hokkaido’s cool climate, it employs an innovative cooling system that significantly reduces energy consumption. Its modular design ensures flexible expansion to meet increasing demand.

Situated in Ishikari, a region with a low risk of natural disasters such as earthquakes and tsunamis, the facility offers a secure environment for critical data. Security measures include multiple layers of physical access control—mantrap entry, biometric and card access systems, and comprehensive CCTV surveillance—while fire protection is provided by a Nitrogen gas fire extinguishing system.

Equipped with a high-voltage direct current (HVDC) power supply system, the datacenter enhances power efficiency and lowers equipment costs. Sustainability is a core focus, demonstrated by the integration of the Ishikari Photovoltaic Power Station, which supplies clean solar energy directly to the facility. The datacenter supports various colocation options, including full and partial cabinets, shared rack space, remote hands services, and N+1 cooling redundancy.
