Netcetera owns and operates The Dataport, a state-of-the-art data center designed specifically for housing critical IT infrastructure. Located in the Isle of Man and operational since 2007, this purpose-built, sole-tenant facility spans a total building size of 20,000 sq. ft., with 16,000 sq. ft. of dedicated whitespace. As one of the most cost-efficient hosting providers in the UK, Netcetera offers a world-class environment with a 700+ rack hosting capacity, situated just a one-hour flight from London.

The Dataport is engineered to a Tier 3/4 design standard, ensuring high availability and robust performance for enterprise clients. The facility features a highly specified infrastructure that incorporates raised flooring for optimized airflow and a massive 10MW of available power. This scalable power architecture is designed to accommodate future expansion, allowing businesses to grow their digital footprint without the constraints of local power limitations.

At its core, the facility utilizes a 2(N+1) redundancy configuration for its power systems, generators, and Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS). This 2(N+1) architecture ensures that even in the event of multiple component failures, the mission-critical systems remain operational. The cooling system is equally resilient, employing redundant air conditioning units and raised floor cooling to maintain precise environmental conditions for all hosted hardware.

Security is a cornerstone of the Dataport operation, featuring 24/7 onsite security guards, video surveillance, and sophisticated alarm systems. Access is strictly controlled, though clients benefit from 24/7 facility access when required. To protect physical assets from fire hazards, the data center is equipped with specialized heat and smoke sensors paired with an automatic fire suppression system, ensuring rapid response to any thermal threats without damaging sensitive electronic equipment.

Connectivity at the Dataport is defined by a resilient, low-latency switched Layer 2 network. Netcetera’s core infrastructure is linked directly to major hubs at Telehouse North and TelecityRedbus in the London Docklands. This strategic routing ensures the network is protected against fiber failures or provider-specific equipment issues. With only a 10ms latency to major European exchange points and Tier 1 transit providers, the facility offers exceptional speed and reliability.

Additionally, the facility offers hosting for individual servers, dedicated servers, and virtual servers.
