Located just 9 km from our Chennai 1 Data Center, the new Chennai 2 Data Center campus features two 9-storey buildings, Building A and Building B. Each building offers a maximum IT load capacity of 17.4MW, totaling 34.8MW across both buildings when fully operational. The campus is designed to provide a secure, high-availability environment for housing IT and network systems, supported by redundant power and cooling systems, extensive client facilities, and robust security measures. As the leader in data center services in India, this facility is part of the country’s only interconnected data center platform, equipped with a subsea cable for global connectivity and cloud connects for virtually hosted workloads.

The data center supports a critical IT load of 34.8MW across both buildings, with 5,000 racks (2,500 per building) and UPS systems built with redundancy to ensure continuous power availability.

The facility is carrier-neutral, offering connectivity to major hubs and access to leading public, private, and hybrid cloud providers. It features Carrier-Meet-Me-Rooms, Data Center Interconnects across Indian facilities, cloud connects, and global connectivity through the MIST subsea cable landing station.

Chennai 2 employs a redundant water-cooled system with CRAC units in suites and technical rooms, combined with cold aisle containment to support high-density environments and optimize cooling efficiency.

Security is maintained 24x7 with onsite personnel, biometric access control, and comprehensive CCTV monitoring accessible via the Customer Portal. Additional measures include boom barriers, vehicle scanning at entry gates, and x-ray scanning for visitors.

The data center offers a range of options including full cabinets, partial cabinets, shared rack space, cages, remote hands services, Meet-Me-Rooms (MMR), and peering networks.
