MedNautilus Greece operates multiple state-of-the-art co-location sites encompassing more than 8,000 sq.m., strategically located in Koropi and Metamorphosis in Attica, and in Chania on the island of Crete. These facilities provide a comprehensive range of services, including co-location with first and second level support, managed hosting, storage networking, and disaster recovery. Designed to meet advanced international standards, the sites ensure fast, efficient, and economical connectivity options with telecommunications providers and customers alike.

The MedNautilus facilities are engineered in compliance with NEBS (Network Equipment Building Standards) and utilize N+1 system backups across all buildings. The total built-out power capacity is 3.2 MW, while the overall building size reaches 4,000 sq.m. Available colocation options include Full Cabinets, Partial Cabinets, Shared Rackspace, Cages, and Suites Footprints, supported by Remote Hands services. The infrastructure is backed by two high-voltage sources supplied by separate transformers, providing electrical connections exceeding 1 KVA/m². Diesel UPS backup systems comprise two Continuous Power Supply (CPS) units of 1000 KVA each, ensuring uninterrupted operation, including during air-conditioning usage. Equipment benefits from dual DC power feeds (A+B) and an Automatic Static Transfer Switch (ASTS) for single-feed systems, while a 1 OHM grounding system with HP filtering safeguards against high-frequency currents. The facility maintains an electro-mechanical SLA of 99.999%.

The air-conditioning system features direct venting to all IDC areas via raised floors with Liebert units (350,000 BTU each), capable of operating under extreme conditions. Temperature and humidity levels are continuously monitored and controlled, maintaining a stable environment of 22°C ±1°C and 50% ±10% humidity, guaranteeing an SLA of 99.99%.

Security and safety are core elements of MedNautilus’ design. The facilities are equipped with advanced entry control and intrusion detection systems, supported by 24/7 onsite security staff. Access is monitored using smart cards, biometric systems, and CCTV surveillance. Fire detection relies on local sampling units, activating the FM200 gas-based extinguishing system in the event of a fire. Manual activation and a backup dry water-based system ensure redundancy, while all structures are fireproofed for up to four hours. Additionally, a Building Management System (BMS) continuously monitors all critical components—electricity, air-conditioning, and fire systems—to detect any malfunction instantly.

As a telecommunications-driven company, MedNautilus offers robust connectivity options locally and internationally. Through its parent company’s extensive network, clients gain rapid links across the Eastern Mediterranean, Western Europe, and North America, with global reach via partner networks. Locally, direct connections are available in Chania and, soon, Thessaloniki, while in Attica, interconnection opportunities are extensive. The Metamorphosis data center hosts major telecom providers such as OTE, Attica Telecom, Vodafone, TIM, and Tellas, all utilizing dual-routing connections. Over five microwave network operators have also installed rooftop equipment, enabling wide-ranging connectivity options through technologies like SDH, ATM, GbE, and TCP/IP. The site includes two Internet Exchange Points, supports 32 peering networks, one network provider, and four colocation tenants, and features a dedicated Meet-Me-Room (MMR).
