The Munich 1 Data Center, operated by e-shelter, has been fully operational since 2005 and is one of three smaller high-availability facilities managed by the company. It offers a total of 1,960 square meters of high-availability data center whitespace and 300 square meters of office space, all built to meet stringent availability and reliability requirements.
Power and Redundancy
The data center has a total electric power capacity of 3 MW, with 1 MW fully built-out for current use. Power infrastructure includes N+1 UPS redundancy, providing a minimum of 15 minutes of battery backup at full load. The standby power system consists of 2 x 1,400 kVA emergency generators with 48 hours of fuel storage, ensuring business continuity during power outages.
Cooling Infrastructure
Cooling systems are designed for reliability with N+1 redundancy, featuring a redundant water-cooled system supported by free cooling. This setup enhances energy efficiency while maintaining optimal equipment temperatures.
Colocation Options
Munich 1 offers a range of colocation services, including full cabinets, partial cabinets, shared rackspace, and private cages. However, suites and footprints are not available. Remote hands services are provided to assist clients with on-site operations.
Network and Connectivity
The facility includes a Meet-Me-Room (MMR) and supports interconnectivity with 4 peering networks and 1 network provider, enabling robust and flexible network access.
