The Frankfurt 4 Data Center stands as a premier, state of the art facility engineered to handle the world’s most demanding IT workloads. Spanning a massive 32,900sq,m across seven purpose built buildings, the campus represents a significant expansion of infrastructure in one of Europe’s most vital tech hubs. Strategically located in Hattersheim just 15km west of Frankfurt’s city center it offers the perfect balance of proximity to the city's financial heart and the expansive space required for large scale industrial data operations.

Power is the lifeblood of this facility, which boasts a fully built out critical IT load capacity of 82.3 MW. The infrastructure is designed to support high density deployments, offering a maximum power density of 2.5 kW per m². This robust power profile ensures that whether a client is utilizing shared rackspace or dedicated suites, the energy overhead is available to support intensive computational tasks, AI processing, and large scale enterprise networking without bottlenecking.

To guarantee maximum uptime, the facility employs a rigorous 2N UPS redundancy configuration. This means two entirely separate UPS systems A and B supply are active at all times to prevent any single point of failure from impacting the hardware. In the event of a utility grid failure, the campus relies on a redundantly designed emergency power system featuring N+1 diesel generators, ensuring that critical systems remain live during extended outages.

Maintaining optimal operating temperatures is handled by highly efficient chiller systems. These systems integrate free cooling technology or utilize separated recoolers to minimize environmental impact while maximizing thermal regulation. This sophisticated cooling architecture is essential for maintaining the Tier 3 design standards, ensuring that even under peak load, the hardware environment remains stable and within strict manufacturer temperature tolerances.

Security at Frankfurt 4 is multi layered and relentless, beginning with a fenced perimeter and 24 by 7 onsite security staff. Access to the white space is controlled via mantrap entries, biometric scanners, and card access systems to ensure only authorized personnel enter sensitive areas. The entire campus is under constant CCTV surveillance, providing a high security environment that meets the stringent requirements of global enterprises and financial institutions.

Protecting physical hardware from fire is managed by an automated nitrogen extinguishing gas system. Unlike water based systems, this gaseous suppression method is designed to stop combustion without damaging sensitive electronic components or leaving behind residue. This is complemented by 24 by 7 onsite technical staff who monitor the facility’s health, ensuring that any environmental risks are mitigated before they can escalate into service disruptions.

The campus serves as a major connectivity node, featuring a dedicated Meet Me Room that facilitates seamless interconnection. It provides direct access to four peering networks and a variety of network providers, including a primary internet exchange point. This ecosystem allows for low latency data transfer and high bandwidth capabilities, making it an ideal site for carriers, cloud service providers, and large enterprises requiring global reach.

Operating since 2019, the facility adheres to an exhaustive list of international standards to ensure quality and safety. It is Tier 3 designed and holds a comprehensive suite of certifications, including ISO 27001 for information security, ISO 9001 for quality management, and PCI DSS for payment card industry data security. These certifications, alongside ISO 50001 Energy Management and ISO 22301 Business Continuity, confirm that the facility operates at the highest global benchmarks for reliability and professional management.
