NewTelco Germany (MainRZ) Data Center

The MainRZ flagship facility offers approximately 750 to 1,000 sqm of specialized technical data center space. Designed to accommodate a diverse clientele—ranging from global players to national SMEs—the site provides highly flexible deployment options. Clients can choose from individual unit rack space and partial cabinets to dedicated full cabinets and secure cages, allowing for seamless scalability as infrastructure requirements grow.

At the core of the facility is a robust 5 MW IT capacity supported by dual grid access. Strategically located at the intersection of four German power grids, the center utilizes two independent electricity sources to achieve true N+N redundancy. Power distribution is highly customizable, offering AC (230V/400V) and DC (48V) options with various breaker sizes, all backed by a minimum of N+1 UPS protection and a battery runtime of up to 120 minutes.

To maintain an optimal operating environment of 22°C and humidity levels between 40% and 60%, MainRZ employs N+1 redundant cooling systems. The facility utilizes a combination of advanced water cooling, cold wall refrigeration, and traditional downflow units. Airflow is managed via raised floors and the strict separation of warm and cold aisles, all monitored 24/7 by a sophisticated Building Management System (BMS).

Located near the Frankfurt telecommunications hub, MainRZ provides direct fiber optic links and access to over 600 network operators, ISPs, and content providers. This connectivity adheres to strict infrastructure standards, ensuring maximum uptime. Beyond Germany, NewTelco’s broader network extends to key global markets including London, Hong Kong, Cape Town, and Amsterdam, facilitating seamless international data transfer.

Security is handled through a multi-layered approach that combines physical barriers with high-tech verification. The perimeter is protected by fencing and 24/7 CCTV surveillance (internal and external), while entry is strictly regulated via card swipe systems and advanced facial recognition scanners. These measures ensure that every visitor is logged and that only authorized personnel can access sensitive technical areas.

The facility is equipped with a VESDA (Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus) system to identify potential hazards before they escalate. In the event of a fire, automatic gas-based suppression systems—using Argon or FM-200—are deployed. These gases are specifically chosen because they are non-destructive to electronic equipment, environmentally friendly, and safe for human exposure, covering Class A, B, and C fires.

While specific ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 certifications are standard across NewTelco’s broader global portfolio, the MainRZ site distinguishes itself by emphasizing Tier IV / VK 4 compliance. This focus specifically covers the power and connectivity infrastructure, ensuring the highest level of fault tolerance. Furthermore, the site prioritizes sustainability through a dedicated photovoltaic system and a community heat utilization concept that repurposes waste heat for the local area.
