Vantage’s Frankfurt I campus is a premier data center hub located on an eight acre site in the heart of Europe’s most active digital market. Situated just one kilometer from the city’s primary peering points and a 15 minute drive from Frankfurt Airport, this carrier neutral facility offers businesses a strategic, secure, and highly reliable environment for expansion. The campus is designed with a deep commitment to environmental responsibility, balancing high performance computing needs with sustainable operational practices.

The campus is built to support a total building size of 42000 square meters across three multi story data centers. Once fully built out, the facility will provide a combined 56MW of critical IT load. To meet diverse customer requirements, Vantage offers a variety of deployment options, ranging from full and partial cabinets to shared rackspace, private cages, and custom suites. The facility is designed for maximum space efficiency and includes dedicated, customizable office areas and secure storage with easy transitions between data modules.

Reliability is anchored by an on campus substation powered by EVO, utilizing multiple diverse power feeds to ensure 100 percent concurrent maintainability across all systems. The campus targets a low PUE of 1.3 through advanced cooling techniques. While the first building utilizes air to air units in an N+1 topology, the rest of the campus employs a highly efficient closed loop chilled water system with air cooled chillers. This system features integrated economizers that leverage outside ambient temperatures to reduce energy consumption, alongside N+1 redundancy for all mechanical systems and dedicated cooling in all critical spaces.

Stringent security protocols are in place to safeguard digital assets 24x7x365. The perimeter is protected by comprehensive fencing and an on site security operations center that manages constant patrols. Access is tightly controlled via a visitor management system and dual authentication using biometric and card for entry into customer and critical infrastructure areas. Additionally, the entire campus is monitored by CCTV at all access control points, ensuring a rigorous defense in depth approach to physical safety.

The FRA1 campus offers exceptional network density and path diversity. It features four points of entry and multiple diverse fiber pathways into the site, ensuring at least two paths per carrier. Each data center on campus includes two Meet Me Rooms to provide redundant connectivity options. As a carrier neutral facility, it provides access to both dark and lit fiber, with over 20 carriers already connecting in the nearby Offenbach area, allowing customers total flexibility in managing their network architecture.

Vantage operates with a focus on operational excellence and world class in house operations. The campus is engineered to meet N+1 redundancy standards across all critical power and mechanical systems. While specific ISO or LEED certifications are part of the standard Vantage portfolio, the FRA1 campus specifically emphasizes sustainability standards through its hyper efficient cooling, minimal water usage, and the use of renewable energy sources to limit the overall carbon footprint of its operations.

Beyond technical specifications, the campus provides a superior environment for personnel, including large scale break rooms and conference facilities to help staff recharge and work efficiently. Sustainability is integrated into the daily details through electric vehicle charging stations for cars and bikes, motion sensor LED lighting, and drought resistant landscaping. Furthermore, Vantage offers Remote Hands services, allowing customers to rely on expert on site technicians for emergency assistance and routine hardware tasks.
