Frankfurt 2 Data Center is located on Hanauer LandstraĆe in the eastern part of Frankfurt, about 30 minutes by car from the city center. Its position in a highly connected area makes it easily accessible and well suited for network intensive operations.
Facility Overview
This purpose built, two story data center has been operational since 2011 and provides around 1,900 mĀ² of total IT space, including 1,500 mĀ² of fully built out whitespace. It is part of NTTās smaller scale data center network in Germany. The facility is DE CIX enabled, carrier neutral, and connected to more than 700 carriers, ensuring strong network diversity and availability.
Security
The site maintains a robust security framework with 24/7 on site security staff, gated access, and comprehensive CCTV monitoring. Entry is controlled through photo identification, card access, and biometric authentication. Fire safety measures include High Sensitivity Smoke Detection, Nā gas fire suppression, pre action dry sprinkler systems, and handheld extinguishers for rapid response.
Power Infrastructure
Frankfurt 2 provides 1.1 MW of fully built out power capacity supported by N+1 UPS redundancy, with at least 15 minutes of battery runtime at full load. Backup power is ensured by two 1,400 kVA diesel generators and on site fuel storage that can sustain operations for up to 48 hours during outages.
Cooling Systems
The data center uses an N+1 redundant water cooling system enhanced by free cooling technology. Raised floor air conditioning with down blow distribution helps maintain stable airflow, while environmental controls carefully regulate temperature and humidity throughout the whitespace.
Colocation Services
Customers can choose from full cabinets sized 600mm x 1200mm x 45U closed racks with perforated doors, partial cabinets, shared rack space, and dedicated cages. Suites and footprints are not offered at this location. Remote Hands services are available to support clients needing technical assistance.
Network and Connectivity
The facility includes a dedicated Meet Me Room and provides access to 1 Internet Exchange Point, 11 peering networks, and 2 network providers. As a carrier neutral data center with a dense connectivity ecosystem, it enables highly resilient and scalable network setups.
