YEXIO (YEXIO Heiligenhaus) Data Center

The YEXIO Heiligenhaus facility is built on a 9,300 m² site within the Innovationspark Heiligenhaus, with a design that prioritizes carbon reduction. Unlike traditional concrete-heavy data centers, this project utilizes a wooden structure and façade to sequester CO₂ emissions. To further integrate into the local ecosystem, the center features a green façade designed to promote biodiversity, while the use of sustainable building materials sets a new benchmark for environmentally conscious construction in the regional cluster.

Scheduled to be operational by mid-2025, the data center is powered by 100% renewable energy. The facility is designed for a fully built-out power capacity of 4 MW, with an initial live power of 2 MW. To ensure maximum uptime and reliability, the electrical systems are built to Tier III standards and feature N+1 redundancy across all Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, providing a stable environment for critical digital operations.

A standout feature of the YEXIO facility is its use of direct water cooling, a technology significantly more efficient than traditional air cooling. This system is specifically optimized for high-performance AI applications that generate intense heat. Beyond cooling the hardware, the facility is designed for enhanced heat reuse, allowing the thermal byproduct of data processing to be redirected, thereby creating energy synergies with nearby businesses and the local community.

With a total whitespace of 9,000 m², the facility offers a versatile range of hosting options to meet diverse business needs. Clients can access full cabinets, partial cabinets, and shared rackspace, as well as dedicated cages and suites for increased privacy. The center is designed as a colocation and cloud hub, supported by remote hands services to provide on-site technical assistance for tenants requiring 24/7 maintenance of their hardware.

As a critical piece of regional infrastructure, the site maintains rigorous physical security protocols. Protection includes 24/7/365 on-site security, multi-layered perimeter fencing, and biometric or card-based access control coupled with continuous video surveillance. For internal safety, the facility is equipped with integrated fire detection and suppression systems that strictly adhere to German regulatory standards, ensuring both data and physical assets remain protected.

To guarantee management quality and data integrity, the YEXIO Heiligenhaus data center complies with the most stringent European and international certifications. It adheres to ISO 27001 for Information Security Management and ISO 50001 for Energy Management. Furthermore, it meets the EN 50600 standard, which is the comprehensive European benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of data center facilities.
