LWLCOM operates three modern, carrier-neutral data centres in the Bremen city centre, interconnected by its own state-of-the-art optical fibre network. The Hermann-Ritter-Strasse site, opened in 2023, is a retrofitted Tier 3 facility that provides 300 sq.m. of fully built-out whitespace within a total building size of 600 sq.m. and a plot size of 1,000 sq.m. The site is expandable and features raised floors with a maximum floor load capacity of 100 kg/sq.m., supporting diverse colocation requirements.

A wide range of colocation options are available, including private rooms and suites, cages, full cabinets, partial cabinets, shared rackspace, and individual footprints. Customers can also benefit from on-site remote hands, installation and commissioning support, delivery and collection services, and optional access to conference rooms, office space, breakrooms, crash carts, loaner tools, free Wi-Fi, and parking.

The facilities are powered by medium-voltage electricity supplied by the local utility, supported by diesel generators and Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems delivering both A and B feeds to rack locations. Power options include 230V AC and 48V DC, with redundancy following an N+1 design. Sustainability is enhanced by on-site solar panels. Cooling is managed through temperature-controlled environments with hot aisle and cold aisle configurations, also built to N+1 redundancy standards to ensure efficiency and reliability.

Built to Tier 3 design standards, the Hermann-Ritter-Strasse site delivers high availability and operational reliability. The retrofitted construction ensures compliance with modern data centre requirements while offering flexibility for future expansion.

Security is ensured with a fenced perimeter, biometric access control, card-based entry systems, and a two-stage authentication process. The facilities are monitored by 24/7 video surveillance and continuous service monitoring. Fire safety is managed with early detection systems, alarms, and automatic fire suppression for maximum protection of infrastructure and customer equipment.

To support client operations, LWLCOM provides business-hour on-site security and technical staff, as well as additional customer-focused amenities such as conference rooms, office space, loading bays, and breakrooms. Customers can pre-book free Wi-Fi and office use, while parking is available on request, ensuring flexibility and convenience during visits.

The Bremen data centres offer extensive connectivity both locally and nationally, with LWLCOM’s own fibre network linking to major German cities. Carrier options include Deutsche Telekom, Vodafone, EWE Tel, Bremen Brite Line, COLT, LUMEN, Cogent, Versatel, Gasline, and Wingas, with additional providers such as euNetworks, EXA Networks, NGN, and Telefonica present at Hermann-Ritter-Strasse. Major content providers including Netflix, Amazon, Meta (Facebook), and Google are directly connected, while the site also hosts the fully built-out BRE-IX Internet Exchange, enhancing peering and traffic exchange capabilities.
