LWLCOM offers three separate carrier-neutral data centres within Bremen city centre, all interconnected by a state-of-the-art optical fibre network installed, operated, and maintained by LWLCOM. This distributed infrastructure has maintained 100% uptime to date, allowing industry-standard Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to be consistently met. The total building size across these facilities is 1,200 sq.m., with 900 sq.m. of fully built-out whitespace, spanning three floors on a 2,000 sq.m. plot. The facilities were retrofitted and became operational in 2008, with sole-tenant tenancy type and expandable whitespace options.
Service Offerings
LWLCOM provides flexible hosting options including full cabinets, partial cabinets, shared rackspace, cages, suites, and footprints. Additional services include on-site remote hands, installation and commissioning support, as well as delivery and collection services. Customers also have access to office facilities, free WiFi, and parking if booked in advance.
Power & Cooling Redundancy
Power infrastructure includes diesel generators and medium-voltage power supplied by the local utility. UPS systems provide A & B feed redundancy to rack locations, supporting 230V AC or 48V DC. Cooling is managed with temperature-controlled areas and cold aisle/hot aisle configurations for efficiency. Both UPS and cooling systems follow an N+1 redundancy model, while standby power relies on diesel generators. Maximum power per rack is 4 kW. Sustainability targets are met with on-site solar panels.
Compliance Standards
The data centres are designed to Tier 3 standards with fully fenced perimeters and meet industry best practices for uptime and reliability.
Security Measures
Security includes 24/7 video surveillance, continuous monitoring of both location and services, and two-stage data centre entry procedures. Fire safety is ensured through early fire detection, alarms, and automatic suppression systems. Biometric and card access controls are implemented, and onsite security staff are present during business hours.
Tenant Amenities
Tenant support includes office space, breakrooms, roof access, loading bays, crash carts, loaner tools, and WiFi connectivity. Parking is also available for tenants.
Network Connectivity
LWLCOM provides its own connectivity within Bremen and to other major German cities. Multiple network providers are present, including Deutsche Telekom, Vodafone, EWE Tel, Bremen Brite Line, COLT, LUMEN, Cogent, Versatel, Gasline, and Wingas. Peering networks include euNetworks, EXA Networks, NGN, and Telefonica. Content providers and eyeball networks such as Netflix, Amazon, Meta, Google, and BRE-IX (Bremen) are connected, offering robust interconnectivity options.
