The Vantage Berlin II BER2 campus marks a significant expansion of IT infrastructure in Germany, situated just 10 kilometers from the Berlin Brandenburg International Airport. Spanning 5 hectares, the campus is designed to house two premier data centers, each delivering 16MW of critical IT load across 12,000 square meters of floor space. This prime location near the existing BER1 campus provides a robust foundation for businesses seeking a high performance digital hub within one of Europe’s most vital economic regions.

Reliability is the cornerstone of the BER2 campus, which features an on campus substation providing 45MW of power in an N+1 configuration. Energy is supplied by E.DIS, the region's leading provider, via multiple diverse power feeds to ensure maximum uptime. The facility utilizes a 400V electrical configuration and is built to be 100% concurrently maintainable, meaning all systems can be serviced without interrupting the power supply to critical customer equipment.

Vantage employs a highly efficient closed loop chilled water system that utilizes air cooled chillers to manage thermal loads. By integrating air side economizers, the system can leverage favorable outside ambient temperatures to reduce compressor energy consumption, resulting in a Water Utilization Efficiency WUE that is near zero. To further enhance distribution, Computer Room Air Handling CRAH units are strategically located in galleries on opposite sides of each data module, supported by N+2 component level redundancy.

The BER2 campus offers exceptional network flexibility through its carrier neutral design, providing customers with access to both dark and lit fiber from all major providers. Each data center includes two Meet Me Rooms and at least two points of entry POEs, which can be extended to four for maximum path diversity. This infrastructure ensures that data pathways remain resilient, with a minimum of two diverse paths per carrier entering the campus.

Security at the Berlin II campus is uncompromising, featuring an On Site Security Operations Center that coordinates 24x7x365 patrols. The perimeter is fortified with K12 rated fencing designed for impact protection, while all access points are monitored via comprehensive CCTV coverage. Inside the facility, dual authentication is required to access customer and critical infrastructure areas, complemented by a strict visitor management system and monitored checkpoints.

To meet the varied needs of modern enterprises, Vantage provides a wide range of space and equipment configurations. Customers can choose from full or partial cabinets, shared rackspace, or highly secure cages and private suites. These options are supported by "Remote Hands" services, allowing customers to leverage Vantage’s expert in house operations team for on site technical tasks and maintenance, ensuring seamless management of digital assets.

Beyond the server floor, the BER2 campus is designed to provide a superior environment for personnel to work, relax, and recharge. The facility includes dedicated, customizable office spaces and workspaces, as well as multiple conference rooms and large scale break rooms for staff comfort. Additionally, the campus offers secure storage areas with easy transitions between data modules, making it a highly functional environment for long term operational teams.

Sustainability is integrated into the very fabric of the BER2 design, from the use of solar panels to power non critical office areas to the inclusion of electric vehicle charging stations for cars and bikes. The site features sustainable underground natural drainage and permeable landscaping to support local biodiversity and reduce environmental impact. These efforts, combined with motion sensor LED lighting and drought resistant greenery, ensure that the campus maintains an industry leading Power Usage Effectiveness PUE while minimizing its carbon footprint.
