The Herman IT Data Center, operational since 2011, is strategically located in the secured and fenced Renforsin Ranta business park area. This location leverages existing industrial infrastructure, which, when combined with the IBM EMDC (Enterprise Modular Data Center) concept and Herman IT's expertise, ensures outstanding cost advantages and extremely short lead times for customers, even for large-scale expansions.
Facility Design & Capacity
The facility uses the IBM EMDC concept, which is highly flexible, allowing clients to start at their current technology density and incrementally increase power and cooling capacity within each module over time. This growth is achieved without disruption to data center operations. The design can support high-density technologies through the use of localized supplemental cooling that taps into preinstalled ports. The data center offers capacity options including Full Cabinets, Partial Cabinets, Shared Rackspace, and Cages.
Power & Cooling Infrastructure
The data center benefits from a whole power infrastructure running from 110 kV to 10 kV transformers directly to the facility. The total available load to the site is an immense 900 MW, with a main transformer capacity of 230 MW. The built-out power capacity for the data center is 10 MW. Crucially, the site has multiple connections from Finland’s national grid, making the substation one of the most resilient in the network with a remarkable 99.9999% reliability. For high-density technologies, the EMDC design provides for localized supplemental cooling.

Security is maintained with the data center's location within a secured and fenced business park area, with access restricted to only authorized persons.
